A racy photo shoot is prompting fresh scrutiny of the would-be first lady's early visits to the United States.

:pop:

Nude photographs published this week are raising fresh questions about the accuracy of a key aspect of Melania Trump’s biography: her immigration status when she first came to the United States to work as a model.

The racy photos of the would-be first lady, published in the New York Post on Sunday and Monday, inadvertently highlight inconsistencies in the various accounts she has provided over the years. And, immigration experts say, there’s even a slim chance that any years-old misrepresentations to immigration authorities could pose legal problems for her today.

I would 99 tine out of 100 say: she is now a citizen, who cares?

But given Trump's dracanion views on immigration ,including cracking down on H1-b visas, the potential hypocrisy would be astounding.

Here are the missing pieces:

If she came on a non work visa andbdid this photo shoot, was she paid? If not did she receive rent money and stipends in lieu?

How did she get a green card? Did her employer sponsor her?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

Oops sorry,

What difference does it make?

Did she mean to work?

The problem is that the Italian agent says she had an H1B visa in 1996, the photos posted by the New York Post were supposedly taken in 1995.

Show us the proof .. Very few stories you post turn out to be factual ....

Very few.. is a stretch. How about none

proof that trump's platform is centered on "THE WALL"? or proof that melania didn't have to play by the strict immigration rules. i mean come on guys, neither of you cursed the affluent when waiting on your loved ones to get here? you didn't notice that some have an easier process than others? you don't think that profession and wealth play a role in this process? personally, i could care less about how melania got here (obviously), i have no issue with her being here or staying here forever and singing dixie till the day she dies. good for her. but i'm not at all a fan of her husband's immigration platform either. so it strikes me as a mighty entitled stance, to want to build a wall and kick out folks who might not have careers that aide in the immigration process or money to make the process smooth and easy.

- Well the affluent has the money and more immigration path options (various type investment visas) to US.

This is NOT unique to USA only. Many countries have the similar immigration scheme for rich people

So too bad that if one is not rich. But isn't it what it is in lives as well?

On the side note, don't you feel it is ridiculous that US immigration has such a low poverty level requirements and even accept co-sponsors?

If one could barely survive in US, why bring another one into the country to suffer and then ask for handouts?

There are plenty of threads asking what benefits/freebies permanent residents are entitled to, once they touch down on US soil.

you didn't notice that some have an easier process than others?

All the petitions go through USCIS regardless you are rich or poor, so it is uneven workload at various USCIS centers that are causing delays for some.

Only certain work petition/visa could be expedited by paying premium fees.

But family based immigration petitions, there are no expedite even if you are rich or willing to pay more.

Once it reaches the US consulates, it is a different story.

Who to blame if their countries have prevalent high fraud cases, or their countries have poor records keeping system hence the background checks take longer?

you don't think that profession and wealth play a role in this process?

Sure but It is all the same in most countries immigration as well.

All countries want people who can contribute to their economics / society, not leech off the welfare the countries provided.

I believe in people should immigrate in legal ways which are available to them, not just jump over the fence because their own countries sucks.

I feel that my current house is not nice, could I just pack my stuff and move into someone's lake house because it is really awesome looking?

-yes, too bad if one is not rich. class warfare is an actual thing, alive and well in this country. i think our current election dilemma is quite evident of that, do we pick the rich dude pretending he lives by the same rules as us worker bees or do we pick the rich lady who knows how to relate a bit better to worker bees but has to try and hide that her pockets lined with corporate interest? money is king, regardless of potus.

-i don't feel the poverty level requirements are ridiculous because i feel that for poor(er) americans, the only feasible avenue of legal immigration is marriage and that is problematic for a number of reasons. poor americans have just as much right to bring their loved ones to america as people who have the money to hire lawyers, take extended trips to visit, support two households in two countries for a undetermined amount of time.

-countries that have high fraud rates are normally countries where folks have an extra hard time getting through. i understand some of this is bureaucratic and dependant on the infrastructure of the foreign country. there isn't anyone to blame, in my mind, but the immigration system we currently have that has been in dire need of reform for quite some time, but all we can ever discuss as a country is kicking mexicans out..oh and sometimes we question the judgement of cougars bringing over boy toys from mena. because what are the boy toy intentions, really?

-i believe there should be more feasible legal avenues of immigration. i also know that very desperate people are dying on our southern border everyday. by and large they are not desperate for anything other than the possibility to work towards the american dream, and i think it's quite absurd for any american citizen to act like the american dream is 'theirs' to bestow upon who they deem worthy. and as far as your house comment, this is a different discussion...http://openborders.info/blog/confusing-public-private-nonsensical-private-property-argument-open-borders/

Hey, only rich people could afford to run for elections.

Since when a poor person is elected into office -> People question the poor person capability if he/she can't even take care of his or her own life.

Or the poor person get elected and then become rich due to power.

Yes, They do have rights to marry their love ones.

But immigration is a PRIVILEGE.

If He/She could not meet the very low poverty level requirements or even pay the immigration fees, then date locally.

Don't even go to poorer countries to look for spouses and complain about having to support 2 households.

Similar analogy: rich people could afford many mistresses while other has to stick to one or no wife :)

Why should tax payers pay for the poor USC welfare and on of top that pay for USC's immigrant family who he/she could not support?

There are plenty of illegals from many countries, not just mexicans alone.

However, mexicans form the largest group of illegals in USA. Hence they become the face/representation of illegals.

You like the no door immigration approach. I don't.

Open borders only work in one way -> poor people flooding the comparatively richer countries and overwhelm the systems.

It is also not USA responsibilities to fix whatever poor(er) countries problems.

And what is American dream anyway?

This definition?

the ideal that every US citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative.

Other countries can have their own dreams as well -> Mexican Dream, North Korean Dream, Chinese Dream, French Dream ...etc

Every country should work hard to achieve to equal opportunity for their people to achieve success.
