Let me see if I have this right, I am pretty sure I will need to be corrected.

So Black is someone who can trace ancestry back to someone who was a slave in the US.

So for example Obama is not Black, well as far as I have seen mentioned, seem to remember he claimed to be Irish?

So does the one drop rule apply, or do you need to be a certain percentage?

As far as Reparations are concerned will they be pro rata depending on how many of your ancestors you can show to have been slaves in the US. So you have say 3 slaves out of 32 great great great grandparents so you get 3/32nd?

But then you are paying in via the Government for the other 29 so you will be a net contributor?

They do fine because they come here and are not dealing with the same ####### we've had to endure forever. Any group that immigrates here(Asian, Hispanic, etc) does so because of black people before them that fought to open up rights for all people.

Even here, the comments against black people are disgusting. Cops kill them and I watch law biding citizens turn a blind eye to blatant misconduct from the police. I see people who aren't even a part of something get blamed and have no sympathy for them even when they're not a part of it.

There must be subtle differences in the color of their skin or their looks or something that we must not be consciously aware of.

Anyone who thinks they are "owed" something, needs to get off their self-pity trip (and their lazy #######) and work and EARN whatever it is that they want. Unless they are physically disabled after a lifetime of working, all they are entitled to in America is the right to work hard and succeed. Legal immigrants have been doing just that since America was discovered.

If it does, then we're all black (or at least "African-American"), because of our ancient ancestress-in-common "Lucy" from the Olduvai Gorge in Africa. I remember a newspaper article about this from probably at least a couple of decades ago.

That's kind of funny because it reminds me that my wife actually has called me african american at times, the reason being I'm actually 1/8 Egyptian(half side of my family is from 4 diff places in ME and the other half from two places in Europe), and Egypt is in North Africa, and now I'm in America, so to her, that makes me African American. Just kind of an inside joke

Actually, the United States is the only country in the world where (legal) immigrants on average have higher incomes than the native born population, just in case there was some misunderstanding in the way we've structured society here.

That being said, does your comment apply also to the Japanese, Mongol, Persian, various Arab and Ottoman empires, or only the British, Spanish, French and Portuguese ones?

I'll be sure and tell all the black lawyers, doctors, airline pilots, physicists, military generals, and presidents I see from now on that they shouldn't be where they are, due to discrimination.

Or maybe those didn't care about discrimination and fought to get ahead anyway, instead of whining about how unfair it is being black on Internet forums? This is AMERICA. Where people have been coming, for years, from all over the world, to work to get ahead, rise above persecution, and better themselves. Not saying discrimination doesn't exist, but I am saying it can be overcome.

The problem is that some people of color can't do this because of discrimination.
