Hello. I am applying for the K1 visa. I do understand that there is a fee of $340, but my question is can this be paid in a money order or will it only be accepted in check form??

Money order or check are both accepted, as written in the instructions for the i129f. Make sure to make it out to "US Department of homeland security" (don't use initials).

Make sure you read the instructions carefully and also check out the guides on this webpage, so that you include all requested information.

Using a visa service or lawyer is NOT necessary.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

A personal check allows you to have some extra visibility on your petition while it is en route to CSC. When the check is cashed will basically be NOA1. Money order is fine as well, just make sure you put the correct name in the payable to part.

A visa service is not required, and I highly discourage it. They are expencive and all they do is act as a middle man. You still need to get all the documents. The process is not hard, just takes time. Members here are VJ will gladly help for free, plus there are a ton guides around showing what documents you need.

Good luck!
