Good day and my apologies if this information is posted elsewhere. I searched and couldn't seem to find what I am needing help with understanding.

My NOA2 was July 1st and after calling the NVC several times a week, on Aug. 1 I finally received information. They gave me my case number, invoice ID, and when I mentioned that I'd like to request an expedite, they said I couldn't, as it was already sent to the embassy on July 29.

I'd requested an expedite with USCIS and was denied. I requested again with NVC after my NOA2 via e-mail, but it was before my case number was generated and I received a canned e-mail reply that nothing could be done as I was not in their system at that time.

I am really confused - I wasn't told that they expedited my case at all, just that I couldn't request it since it already left for the embassy. Possibly I was expedited and the rep. simply didn't mention this to me?

Today I filled out the DS-160. It would log me out of the application after 1 or 2 minutes of inactivity (no exaggeration) and I had to stop and save at each page to keep it from doing this. After finally getting it completed, I was given the confirmation page with only instructions to bring it to the interview - nothing more. When I try to check my status on ceac.state.gov, it simply says "No Status", today's date as the Case Creation Date, and to contact the U.S. Consular office responsible for processing our visa application.

When I try to pay fees online, I receive the following message:

"The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview."

I am so confused at this point. The NVC flow charts and other references I see seem to be very different from what I am experiencing thus far. Are we simply to wait for contact from the embassy for our next step? To recap, we've not paid any fees or sent in any paperwork at all.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or provide any guidance of any sorts, I would be appreciative of your help. Again, my apologies if I've missed an obvious area or post already addressing this.

Thanks in advance and best of luck to everyone. :)

For Morocco we can't pay fees or schedule our own k1 Visa interview. The consulate schedules for us and the fiance will bring the exact fee with them on the day of the interview. I had the same problem and no one was really talking about. Someone really needs to update our consulate page information ?

Once it got to NVC I called everyday for 3 weeks to get our number. Once I got it the next day CEAC said it was in transit. What they don't tell you is that they send over an electronic copy but it takes a few weeks before the consulate receives the hard copy file and another week or 2 to actually update CEAC and contact you for the packet 3.

When I saw that CEAC said READY I emailed the consulate everyday (another 3 weeks roughly) to finally get a response from them.

Packet 3 will be emailed to you and will only contain a check list, interview invitation letter, a list of doctors for medical and a paper to read about domestic violence....

Once you notice the CEAC Update date has been changed then you can expect an email from them....

I hope this helps ?

They won't expedite cases either unless your in the military and a really valid reason . And you can't schedule anything they do that you pay the day of your interview also. After your case has been mailed I would say email them 3 weeks after
