Does NVC sent out Letters?

Hi

I am from Philippines. My fiance and I got our NVC Case # and Invoice #. As per checking the CEAC tracker website, file is currently "In Transit".

Now, as per requirement of the K1 Medical exam, I would need to present either:

-NVC Letter or Letter of eligibility containing the case number.

However, mail system in PH is extremely terrible. Only a small portion of K1 filers, did ever receive their Eligibility Letters.
Forums advise to bring the NVC Letter instead to be able to get a queue number in St Luke's SLEX Center.

We had called NVC a couple of times, they always come up saying they arent mailing any letters.

I carefully read our NOA2 and it said NVC is supposed to send a mail. Their hotline says they dont do that.

Anyone can enlighten me with this?

If NVC doesnt send a mail as they claimed and the NVC Letter is simply a road to El Dorado, what other letters can I possibly present?

I would be traveling from Cebu to Manila and non-admittance for the medical exam would cost me so much (time, effort, work leaves and finances) on top of the total schedule being messed up.

We have same question and concern... we got our mnl # august 2 and ny fiance call the nvc and they said they are forwarded the case to manila august 1. I know what u felt we all know the mail in philippines is sucks.. hope they just send email than to send it post office mail... by the way im from cebu also mandaue. ???

I (petitioner) received a letter from NVC showing our case number. All it said was they received and processed it.

Yeah I agree. Sadly, they dont do that hence our eligibility letters will never make it.

And I was very worried that I would end up not receiving some files my fiance sent me for the interview. I asked him to send me the files the soonest, it still took more than a week for me to receive it. Luckily, it wasnt lost.

I hope we will receive one too. Just that when we called the hotline (about 4times) they consistently said they aren't sending anything.

How long before you receive it?

Us we dont get anything from nvc yet even our lawyer.. my fiance he just call the nvc and ask them. The last update nvc said in transit to manila august 1 so i hope today or tomorrow embassy have it... we cant make the appointment if we dont have to notice from USM. Waiting time is killing me.

I received it maybe 2 weeks after they received it at NVC. I live somewhere that USPS takes about 1 1/2 weeks for mail to get to me. Maybe they don't send out letters all the time and could depend on who processes your case.

Forum says you can make the appointment if the case number appears ready on the tracker. See website below:

That depends on the embassy. Some allow you to schedule the interview with just the case number. Other require them to have the physical copy (like Naples) before they will proceed.

Yeah that's right. But in PH, they allow it. Most of the beneficiaries never got their eligibility letter as per the forums and blogs that I had read.

Yes the majority of the time the beneficiary in the Philippines does not receive a letter from the embassy or the NVC. Sometimes it does happen but it is a month after the NOA2, so the month you were waiting for that paper you could have been scheduling the medical, CFO, and the embassy interview if you already had the MNL #.
