Hello friends,

I wanted to reach out to you and ask few questions related to my AOS application for my wife. We submitted our application on Jan 10 2016 and received notification that the application has been received. Fallowing that we did fingerprints on Feb 18 2016. On May 18, 2016 we received RFE, saying that my wife needed to submit i693 - Report of Medical Exam for her AOS application. We did not initially include the i693 since we were under impression that K1 visa holders did not needed do it as long as AOS application is submitted within one year (which it was). Needless to say we ended up finding local approved USCIS Medical Examiner which completed the exam and the i693 form and gave it to us in sealed envelope. We send it back to USCIS Newark Field Office on Jun 15 2016.

I am curious how long does it take to hear back from USICS after the medical report has been submitted to them? Has anybody been needed to do i693 for K1 visa candidate that can share their experience and timeline?

On the USCIS case status, there have been no updates since we initially submitted the application. It says:

"On January 21, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status....."

We have applied for AP and EAD and we have received both in the mail. We are just not sure what is going on with our I485 and how long we will have to wait. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Best Regards.

K-1 AOS can take 8-10 months or more. As you have EAD/AP, now it's just a matter of waiting. You may have an interview or may not.
