Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO and major Republican donor Meg Whitman on Tuesday said she will support Hillary Clinton, calling GOP nominee Donald Trump "a dishonest demagogue."

"I will vote for Hillary, I will talk to my Republican friends about helping her, and I will donate to her campaign and try to raise money for her," Whitman told the The New York Times.

In a follow-up statement, Whitman said Trump's candidacy "has exploited anger, grievance, xenophobia and racial division," and she elaborated on her fear that "Trump's unsteady hand would endanger our prosperity and national security."
