I-129F Have you filed for this fiancee before?

Hello all,

I have a specific and possibly stupid question about the I-129F. I previously filed a petition for my fiancee which was approved. However we did not complete the interview and the petition expired. Now I am filing again and in Section 1 Number 14 they ask the question "Have you ever filed for this or any other alien fiancee(e) or husband/wife before?". I don't think she ever received an alien registration number so that is blank.

But then they ask for an address which they apparently assume is in the US. There's only an option for city and state. There's nothing for province or country.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who had to file again.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Craig

Craig

we do not have providences in the US / only states

and the states are divided into countiies except for Lousiana which has parishes

and yes, you did apply before / no alien number but you applied

Thanks everyone,

Maybe I wasn't clear. (imagine that)
My fiancee is in the Philippines and never made it stateside. And since I filed before they want her name and address. In #14 there are no options to put her address in the Philippines where she lives.

Clear as mud?

If the petition was approved, then there is an A#. It would have been listed above the beneficiary's name on the NOA2 I-129F petition approval notice.

They are asking for the address where YOU filed. She did not file anything as of yet, since she never applied for the K-1 visa when that first petition was approved.

Thanks for that! I looked right past it.

That address is pretty confusing in section 1 #14. Right above that it says "If you answered yes provide the following for each alien." Sounds like they want to know where this person is.

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

KayDeeCee gave you the correct answers.

14 e Date of Filing

14 f City or Town (where you filed)

14 g State (where you filed)

14 h Result (did not go to interview)

A number is on your NOA2

When was the first petition approved ?

If you had an I-129F petition approved less than 2 years ago AND this is your 2nd I-129F petition; OR this is your 3rd (or more) I-129F petition, you are required to submit a request for a waiver of the multiple filing limitations.

From the I-129f instructions :

2. What Filing Limitations Does IMBRA Place on K-1 Nonimmigrant Petitioners?

You must apply for a filing limitations waiver if any of the following apply:

a. You have previously filed K-1 petitions for two or more beneficiaries; or

b. You previously had a K-1 petition approved and less than 2 years have passed since the filing date of such previously

approved petition.
