Quick Update:

My case is now ready to be scheduled for an interview (Oct.26th).

It has been exactly a week since biometric.

If I were to wait till my assigned date, 25th, it probably wouldn't be ready to be scheduled just yet, so I'm glad I walked in.

Does anyone know how long it usually take to get actual interview date?

Can you tell us where is your local office?

I did my biometrics two days ago :)

But I'm going to be teaching my language in a cultural center for two months. It's two hours a week, one day a week and they want to pay me. They want to pay me.

I read on the USCIS page that they overlook up to 180 days of "illegal" work and mine will be only two months.

It's not a lot of money but I do want to get paid so do you think I should do it and bring a letter to the interview or not say anything?

I suggest don't say anything unless they ask you. It's just an interview. Just let them know about all the details once they decide to hire you.

Filed August 30th, Biometrics Sept 27th, "Ready to schedule interview" Oct 4th, Interview notice dated Oct 17th.

So was your interview on Oct. 17th? Or was that just the notice date?

That was the notice date. Can't imagine them scheduling an interview within 2 weeks!

Ok, so Oct. 4th was when your case was "ready to be scheduled" and your notice date was the 17th?

I'm trying to get an idea of when my interview DATE will be.
