Just an update. My EAD and AP are approved. YAY! No news on the AOS yet though, but that's fine I guess. At least I get to start working while waiting for my interview schedule. Happy dance! :dancing::goofy:

Nice! I hope to get the same thing very soon!

So I checked USCIS website....and it says "As of Oct. 19th, Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview for I-485 Adjust status. We will send schedule your

interview and send you notice." My wife's and stepdaughter's AOS packages.

At last, some progress! So does this mean EAD and AP approval are to be included in the same interview? Or do those applications get processed separately?

The most important one for us is getting the EAD so my wife can begin working!

I'm still waiting for a Tier 2 officer to call me back.....

That can still get their EAD and AP approved before the interview

They finally scheduled my biometric appointment (NOA 8/17). However, my case is already at the local office. What I've heard from my lawyer was NBC won't transfer your case to the local office until your bio is done, and ready for the interview. But anyways, plan on a walk in bio this Friday and hopefully my case is at the local office already is a good thing!

Best luck on all other NOA 8/17 people, hang in there and you will get your bio soon!

Hi,

Anyone who had gotten an RFE, can you help me clear something up?

My RFE says at the bottom return to evidence and the letter to US department of Homeland security and an address for that. Then it says for express delivery: USCIS national benefits centre and then an address for that.

Did anyone else get two addresses? And which one did you use? I'm assuming the express delivery will be faster? Am I just being silly?

Thanks

You can't do your biometrics without the notice, so you will have to wait for that.

You will need the notice and a Government Issued ID. (Such as your passport)

The P.O. Box is for the USPS and the express is for FedEx and USPS.

For example, I did next day shipping through FedEx and used the 2nd address on the paper and shipped it out at (10/19/16) and they received today (10/20/16) and they updated my case about 3 hours after received saying they started working on my process again.

Thank you for the tips!

One lady in this forum did an early walk in without the notice, the officer printed out the notice for her in the office. Hopefully I can be this lucky too! ??

Just got off the phone with an IO (Tier 2)... if you get an RFE for any of your applications you submitted through AOS (including 485/131/765) everything is put on hold until they get the RFE. So if you got an RFE don't wait to send anything in.

This is not always true. If the RFE says to bring the documents to the interview they wont have it on hold and if they ask you to bring it to the interview you really really shouldnt send it because it causes many problems. If they ask you to send it, it also depends on what they want. If it is a required document it will be on hold, if the just want addition document (like more proof for real marriage) your case wont be on hold.

Hey guys! For all of you who get RFE for medical, I read on an immigration website that since August, they ask for gonorrhea test, so because your medical might have been done before that, could that be the reason for the RFE? I had my medical done early August, and the civil surgeon almost missed the new notice for the tests....

Not sure if that helps

I did my medical in August (after I send my AOS package in) and I got later an RFIE I called to make sure that they didnt require the gonorrhea and they told me its just required for people wo do the test after oktober 1st. You wont get an RFIE for having an old medical as long as it is not older than a year so dont worry

EAD and AP are approved separately. My EAD and AP got approved after they changed my status to "ready to schedule for an interview". There is a small chance that you wont get the EAD and AP card before your interview but you just need to wait an see.

F1 visa: 2015

Marriage: 20 July 2016

AOS/EAD/AP sent: 29 July 2016

Package received: 1 August

Priority date: 2 August

NOA email: 12 August

shipped to NBC: 12 August

NOA letter: 18 August

Biometrics appointment: 7 September

RFIE: 8 September

USCIS case status worked: 9 September

Interveiew scheduled: 6 October

EAD card produced: 7 October

AP approved: 7 October

Interview: 17 November

RFE: 17 November (got during the interview because my doc missed a test)

Green card approved: 5 December

Green card in production: 5 December

Green Card was mailed to me: 8 December
