One other thing I forgot to mention....the paper I received in the mail says...

If you receive an interview notice in the mail, you must bring your updated Form I-693 to your interview appointment.

If your case does not require an interview, you will receive a Request for Evidence for Form I-693 with instructions on where to send it

DO NOT MAIL DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME. Mailing documents before receiving one of the notices referenced above may result in a

delay to your case.

Great. So I'm just supposed to wait until I MIGHT get an RFE in the mail? How long could that take? It looks like I'll have to do this Form

either way. My wife has not received this notice yet, and there is no guarantee that she will get one, according to the lady from USCIS.

Why do things have to be so complicated? Arrrgh!

Here we go again.....I received a notice in the mail from USCIS asking for something else. This new notice was given to my stepdaughter, a K2 recipient. The paper says that

a completed and signed I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record was not submitted. Do we have to send one of those?? When my wife went through the

K1 visa process along with her daughter, the physical exam and all of the required vaccinations to enter the US were given at this time. This happened on Feb. 2nd of this year

in Lima, Peru. We used one of the panel physicians there who is authorized by the US Embassy to do this. The sheet, Vaccination Documentation Worksheet was given to them after their

physicals. It says "US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (requesting a Blanket Waiver).

So I'm confused. Upon getting to the US, we completed another physical last week for the both of them, in order to establish US medical records here. No new vaccinations were given, except Influenza. I don't understand. Why do we have to go through this again? This doctor has to sign off on the I-693 form, stating that vaccination requirements have been met. But again,

WHY? It seems like an unnecessary cost just to get a signature by a "civil surgeon." I know the medical exams are good for one year......

I called USCIS to ask more about this. The lady I spoke with was very nice, but she didn't have any real answers regarding this issue. I requested to speak to a Tier 2 person via a call back to get more answers. The "good part" of this is that the EAD and the AP forms are not effected by this. Only the AOS portion. I'm on Day 62 since I initially filed my package. Even though I received an RFIE, I resubmitted it in just 4 days time. They received my response to the RFIE on October 5th. The lady informed me that if I still haven't received anything within the next 2 weeks, then I can request a formal inquiry into my case, regarding the EAD. I got a reference number also.

Thoughts?

Just give them what they want. Sometimes they misplace these documents. I received an RFIE for a birth certificate that i sent in with the application.

Cheer up!

We got the biometrics letter a couple weeks after NOA1 and did a walk-in on 9/2. But the AOS case has not been updated since-no RFIE or interview notice.

I'm still waiting on my biometrics for all applications. I'm calling to speak with an Immigration Officer tomorrow morning first thing. It's been 62 days and I know I'm not the only one from August 15 acceptance.

It's not the same they are asking for.

He did the K-1/K-2 and therefore the medical they got there (DS-3025) should be fine as long as it's under 1 year.

What they ask for is a new one made in the US.

I've seen SO many who have started to get RFE for this and it's crazy as long as the DS-3025 is complete then it should be finde and nothing else needed.

Re-read what the OP posted.

I can read fine.

This is what he was asked for:

"This new notice was given to my stepdaughter, a K2 recipient. The paper says that

a completed and signed I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record was not submitted. Do we have to send one of those?? When my wife went through the

he send in the DS-3025 as he was supposed to and what is needed they ask for the I-693.

It it NOT the same. If he just send in the DS-3025 he will get in trouble with the RFE response.

So no it's not the same.

Look at this post also exactly the same problem.

I called this morning to speak to an IO Tier 2, I called twice using a landline and a cell phone as I have previously been disconnected in the past and had to start the process over and wait a few hours to speak to an IO again, so if one failed then I have the other to use. Anyways, speaking with the Customer service (Tier 1 person?) they mentioned that since I had my fingerprints taken at the POE within a year (end of July this year) of this application that I will not receive a biometrics appointment as they were already taken, and that biometrics are good for a year.

This doesn't make any sense because there are more people that have entered through there POE and submitted the AOS (485/765/131) within a year and are still getting bio appointments.

Does anyone have any input on this? Basically he said I have nothing to worry about that I got my receipt notice and have not had any RFE's and that my applications are still going "smooth." I still have a call back waiting from a Tier 2 IO that I will get further details but this is what I was just told.

My wife had her original bio in Mexico in May of 2016 (less than a year) and we still got the letter saying we had to go to our local ASC and get it done which we did on the 27th last month. I'm thinking you bad info from that rep but who knows.

I really don't think there is any connection between fingerprints taken at CBP when you enter the country, and the AOS process. Everyone has to get biometrics at a local USCIS office to go through the adjustment of status process. The Tier 1 customer service reps on the USCIS lines are notoriously uneducated about the process and will tell all sorts of completely wrong things. Don't believe anything they say.

(For example, my husband got prints taken both at this K-1 interview and when he arrived in the US, and he had biometrics last month for the I-485).

We all had our bios taken at the embassy. This biometrics is different. It is for adjustment of status and FBI name check.
