When is it worth starting to apply for jobs? I assume in 2 months? And tell them you should be able to start in approx a month or so?

Congrats!! :) if i got a job offer before my EAD arrives can i accept it?

No... Your employer needs your EAD and SSN in order to legally employ you... If they employ you without asking for both then there a stetchy company as it's highly illegal to employ anyone without proper documentation and you can get into serious trouble with the IRS.... Saying that though some employers knowing the situation will give you the job offer and leave it in the table for you until the EAD is approved... Be honest with your employer lying will only result in no job being truthful may work to your advantage

Once you do get a job offer you can call Uscis and try to expedite your EAD based on job offer but there is no guarantee USCIS will accept the expedite

Your EAD is typically approved between day 75 and day 90 so honestly I would start job hunting around day 65/70... by the time they get your application then schedule you an interview and offer you the job you should have your card in hand by that point

March 1,2016 - I arrived in the US with a B2 visa (visitor)

Day 00: August 4,2016 - we submitted our AOS package (I-130, I-485, I-765) (USPS Priority Mail)

Day 0: August 8, 2016 - Package arrived at USCIS Chicago Lockbox

Day 1: August 9, 2016 - Received date in NOA (Form I-797C, Notice of Action)

Day 9: August 17, 2016 - Notice date of NOAs

Day 11: August 19, 2016 (12:26am) - received email notifications that our application has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

Day 13: August 21, 2016 - all cases receipts are working online. Registered for email and text alerts.

Day 14: August 22,2016 - got hard copies of NOAs on the mail. Notice date is August 17, 2016.
Day 44: September 21,2016 - called USCIS to follow up my biometrics letter. I was given a referral number & was advised to wait & call again after 30 days if biometrics don't arrived. (30 days should be October 21).

Day 67: October 14,2016 - called USCIS again and request to talked to a tier 2. Tier 2 made request and sent it to my local office. Advised to call back again on the 29th if the biometrics letter don't arrive.

Day 84: October 31,2016 - received biometrics letter in the mail (finally! Almost 2 months from NOA 1 date)

Day 88: November 4,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Case was Approved' on October 31.

Day 91: November 7,2016 - received EAD approval notice in the mail

Day 98: November 14,2016 - Biometrics appointment in Tampa (in and out within 35 mins)

Day 99: November 15,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'New Card Is Being Produced'

Day 102: November 18,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Card Mailed to Me'

Day 106: November 22,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office' and found it in the mailbox! :)

Day 112: November 28,2016 - Applied for SSN

Day 118: December 3,2016 - SS card received in the mailbox :)

Day 172: January 27, 2017 - Received a text message from USCIS that there is a change in my case. I now have a schedule for interview and it's on March 2!

Day 175: January 30, 2017 - Received the Interview Appointment letter in the Mail! :) 

Day 206: March 2, 2017 - Interview schedule.

Hello.

I received 3 texts last night around 11:30 ish, also emails as well.

When I typed in receipt number this afternoon, it showed that the fingerprint fee was received.

So I checked my account, the check was cashed!!

I sent my package on 3rd by USPS, it showed that it was delivered on 5th (Friday), but on USCIS website, it says they received it on 8th (Monday),

So I am not even sure what my day 0 is for my AOS journey lol

Hello.

It would be whatever is the received date or priority date in your paper NOAs (not the "fingerprint fee received" date)

Just curious what are the first numbers of your receipt number? My received date is Aug 1 and my number is still not working. Mine is MSC1691422***

05/31/2016 - biometrics appointment

08/04/2016 - EAD in hand

02/08/2017 - Interview - Case held for review - Later same day status update "Card is being produced"
