Hi @Leeshaoran,

Do you need to make an appointment to Civil Surgeon to accomplish the I-693 Medical Form?

If so, how long did you wait for the availability of the doctor?

Because I haven't completed the form yet and I was thinking to undergo medical to accomplish the forms.

Thank you so much! :)

Hi, so I'm kind of teaching/tutoring but they want to pay me using my ss number. Should I wait to get paid? Cause I read somewhere that they understand that we need to work and it's not a kind of job where I'm signing a contract...

You need to wait till you have EAD. I don't think you should risk it right now.

Doesn't matter if you are in contract or not, you need to report income later in the tax return.

1/12/2019: 90- ROC filing window open
1/17/2019: Mail I-751 Package via USPS Certified Mail
1/22/2019: Package arrived
1/28/2019: Receive case number via text message  #WACxxxxxxxxxx
2/21/2019: Call USCIS for non-delivery notice receipt
2/29/2019: Receive 18-month extension letter (2 pages)
4/30/2019: Biometric Appt

You are not allowed to do any kind of work for which you get money or any other type or reimbursement unless you have a work permit. If you do work without a work permit it can result in a denial of the green card and in the worst case a deportation.

Same here...F-1 visa and bio fee was accepted 17 August.

When I called this afternoon, tier 2 was closed due to high call volume (probably after federal holiday). Tier 1 support let me know that my case was sent to the local field office ... for us that is St Paul, MN. She said they are currently working on cases from Dec 02 2015! I do not think the tier 1 support is well informed calling in tomorrow morning to be able to talk to tier 2. My understanding is the bio appointments are only made out of one office on the east coast and should be within 2-3 weeks after NOAs.

Dont worry my local office shows that they work on cases from november 15th 2015 and i already got an interview date. I asked about that at my biometrics and they told me not to worry this date means nothing. This basically shows the oldest case they work on but this doesnt mean that they dont work on newer cases. Sometimes they just get a complicated case that takes very long so the gap between the oldest case and the other cases is just bigger.

You got a second bio apt as well?

When did your 485 status changed to "rfe received"?

We had a second biometrics because we did not file for work/ap at the same time we filed aos. They needed another set of fingerprints for the work permit.

Congrats and thank you for letting us know!

Can you please share with us your NOA date again? And also the phone call experience? Have you ever made an inquiry with them etc? Thank you!

Sure!

My first mailed NOA was on August 20th. I didn't hear anything back from then.

So I decided to call them on 15th of September. At the first time, I just spoke to tier 1 representative who set a service request for the fingerprint.

She told me that it would take 15-30 days for them to respond.

I waited until the 30th (15 days after the inquiry), and I called again. But all I was told was to wait until full 30 days.

After 5 days, I tried again and this time I decided to talk to tier 2 officer. Somewhat I was able to talk to tier 2 rep, and he told me I should be getting the answer back in 5 days. I waited until yesterday and still no answer.

So I called again yesterday morning, and finally I was able to hear that my biometric date was set on Oct. 25.

In my opinion, at this point, your NOA date does not matter. You should keep calling and make them to take a look at your case. I'm sure they will help you.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Been busy with life and haven't been able to be on these forums much. That said, I was hoping to get some quick answers from those that can spend more time here.

I. Has USCIS not been sending updates lately? I check on the 100 nearest case numbers (MSCXXXXXXXXXX) and there were updates on some of them just about every day for the last couple of weeks. But none since October 6.

II. Is it common to get the EAD card in the mail (after biometrics) without any update to the status? My wife seems to think that we will check the mail and it might just be in there one day.

1: There have been updates but the updates around yours/our date is just not a lot of them yet, it will start coming

2: No that won't happen, there will be an approved, card produced and card mailed status on the EAD case number.

My online status just changed to "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" Does this mean I won't get an RFE? Because I was so convinced I will. I look at other people's timeline and usually it's RFE before schedule for an interview right? Does anyone know?
