I have been called them 3 times after I make the inquiry on Sep 26, none of them tell me about making decision by Oct 4th and they all tell me to wait for another 30 days - which is Oct 26th.

Because a lot of you guys are mentioning Oct 4th action, so I told that and they are still telling me to wait.

I really think because of the biometrics appointment, it will delay EAD card.

Yeah, I hate to admit that, but I also think the biometric appointment unscheduled will probably delay our EAD :(

I will keep you posted if I hear anything. I will try to call them tomorrow.

You need your biometrics completed before they can process your EAD so uscis will not even process the EAD until biometrics has been done... reason being they need a picture to pr on your EAD card and they use the picture taken at your biometrics To put on the EAD card... they also need your fingerprints that they do at your biometrics to run your threw the FBI data bases before allowing you to work in the US.. your fingerprint is on the EAD card also which they get from the biometrics appointment Edited by Moslund

Not necessarily. There was someone recently that got the ead without having biometrics first. Uscis used the picture they sent for aos and there was a blank space on the fingerprint part of the card

Edit: the user is yorkshiretoaz if I'm not mistaken

That could also come down to what visa they were on if they had already been subject to previous background checks... maybe it was expedited due to urgent circumstances and couldn't wait for biometrics... there could of been special circumstances but I don't know the person background with regards to there immigration process... I guess it's more than possible... I was under the impression it was not possible but clearly that is not the case but I think the majority of immigrants need there biometrics first

That's what I thought so as well, but upon reading their case I found out it happened before. Again, If I'm not mistaken, they came on a k1 and they had a similar problem with the biometrics appointment taking too long, infopass not helping, all sorts of delay, that why I think they did it without biometrics. Unusual but possible.

I saw that a couple times too but this happened from my experience just to people who applied for the green card while they where on a visa that allowed them to work so they already had the FBI check.

For people on a K1 visa or other visas who arent allowed to work it is normally that they have to wait for the biometrics to get the EAD card.

F1 visa: 2015

Marriage: 20 July 2016

AOS/EAD/AP sent: 29 July 2016

Package received: 1 August

Priority date: 2 August

NOA email: 12 August

shipped to NBC: 12 August

NOA letter: 18 August

Biometrics appointment: 7 September

RFIE: 8 September

USCIS case status worked: 9 September

Interveiew scheduled: 6 October

EAD card produced: 7 October

AP approved: 7 October

Interview: 17 November

RFE: 17 November (got during the interview because my doc missed a test)

Green card approved: 5 December

Green card in production: 5 December

Green Card was mailed to me: 8 December

Just wondering if you also apply for EAD? I see on your timeline that you only sent AOS

I was on student visa and got approved for EAD card in January 2016 before I get married. Now I hope I get my EAD card soon :D

To my knowledge nothing just keep calling and hoping for the best... you could make an infopass appointment and make a Service request in person but that does the exact same thing as calling and doing it over the phone or doing it online

Yeah, I think so too. I heard the information you got from an infopass appointment is actually the same if you talk to a tier 2 officer. I will call them tomorrow.
