Does myUSCIS update in realtime?

For example if my letter for biometrics is still on its way, will I see an update @ my uscis online?

Thanks

Not always... The system is VERY glitchy... Something can happen with your case it can either update online that day the next day or in a few weeks from when the update happened... It's extremely glitchy the case tracker... The only biometric related update you get is "fingerprint fee recieved"... there is no such status update for biometric letter sent out or made... The only appointment update that will show on the tracker is when an interview for your I-485 has been scheduled... Your EAD and AP status goes from "recieved" to "card in production" and "approved"... I-485 status updates can be any of the following "recieved" "fingerprint fee recieved" "RFE/RFIE" "approved" "ready to be scheduled an interview" and "interview scheduled" Edited by Moslund

April 8th: AOS sent

April 11th: Recieved at Chicago lockbox [Day 0]

April 25th: NOA1 date (never recieved e-notifications) [Day 14]

Happy to report an easy biometrics walk-in a week early and at a different location, in Portland, Maine. We told them we had moved, showed the AR-11, they said "no worries, we'll take care of you." So glad we didn't have to travel 8+ hours :dancing:

So I changed my last name to my husband last name, I already use that last name for daily life basis stuff.

The question is: I already have mine SSN number since I was under F-1 visa, Can I use NOA + marriage certificate to change my name on SSN? Or do I have to wait till EAD card arrived? Also same as state ID card?

And how long does it take for you to wait in Social Security office?

Thanks

Just go to SSS office and present your marriage certificate to have a name change. Pretty straight forward process.

Let me know if that works. I tried to change my name on my driver license, even with the marriage certificate, they refused, because on my I-94, it still showed the old name. The lady told me I should go to the immigration office to get this changed..... I still have my old name on it, as I am not willing to waste half a day for that...... but maybe the SSN would be ok with that.

I went to Social security office with my marriage certificate and I-94 etc to get my name first then they gave me a piece of confirmation letter and told me I can go to the DMV next day to change the name on my driver's license. I went to DMV the next day with the confirmation letter from SSO and my I-94 etc, they had no problem changing my last name :)

I changed the name on my social security card first, then I go to DMV with the paper (they only gave you a confirmation paper from the social security office at that time then they will mail you the new social security card in a week or two) I got from the social security office and get my named changed on the driver's license.
