Hi everyone!

I'm adjusting my status from F-1. Long story short:

08/09/2016 - package sent through USPS with required signature (First, I sent my package to PO BOX and then I realized that it is a PO BOX and there will be nobody to sign the delivery. However, my package was delivered in 2 days through USPS PRIORITY MAIL and was signed B-) )

08/11/2016 - package was delivered and signed by R Mercado at 11:20 am

It has been 11 days and I'm starting to worry about my receipts of action :huh:

I wish everyone a smooth process and patience haha

Day 1: August 9, 2016 - Received date in NOA (Form I-797C, Notice of Action)

Day 9: August 17, 2016 - Notice date of NOAs

Day 11: August 19, 2016 (12:26am) - received email notifications that our application has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

Day 13: August 21, 2016 - all cases receipts are working online. Registered for email and text alerts.

Day 14: August 22,2016 - got hard copies of NOAs on the mail. Notice date is August 17, 2016.
Day 44: September 21,2016 - called USCIS to follow up my biometrics letter. I was given a referral number & was advised to wait & call again after 30 days if biometrics don't arrived. (30 days should be October 21).

Day 67: October 14,2016 - called USCIS again and request to talked to a tier 2. Tier 2 made request and sent it to my local office. Advised to call back again on the 29th if the biometrics letter don't arrive.

Day 84: October 31,2016 - received biometrics letter in the mail (finally! Almost 2 months from NOA 1 date)

Day 88: November 4,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Case was Approved' on October 31.

Day 91: November 7,2016 - received EAD approval notice in the mail

Day 98: November 14,2016 - Biometrics appointment in Tampa (in and out within 35 mins)

Day 99: November 15,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'New Card Is Being Produced'

Day 102: November 18,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Card Mailed to Me'

Day 106: November 22,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office' and found it in the mailbox! :)

Anyone know which month of the year is the busiest volume wise for USCIS applications?

Hmmm. I'm not quiet sure. But others say many would be on vacations for the coming holidays so they will have backlogs. But i am really not sure. Maybe others can help you in your question.?

Ahhhh so many news.

Congrats to everyone who got something new from USCIS!

College just started again for me and most of my teachers are really hard on being every day in class and they wont make an exception at all :ranting:

If my biometrics appointment would be on a day when I have a test (and i have lots of them :ranting: ) can I reschedule because of that? If i have to reschedule can I choose my own date and time or are they just sending an other letter with a new time? Also how long after the old time is the new biometrics appointment on average?

So many questions I am sorry :blush:

First you may try to do an early walk in, meaning you go to the office assigned before your appointment in hopes they let you in and do your biometrics, some offices will allow it, some ask to come back and some deny it. If they won't allow you to do your biometrics early and you can't attend when they scheduled, you'll need to ask for a reschedule, and they'll assign another date. It takes time and I don't think you can choose

Wow! NOA1 date is August 8th....and your Biometrics is for August 30th? Nice! Did you get a letter in the mail for your Bio appointment or did you have to call and schedule one?

Hey! I got a letter, no need to call. As i said i was out of town so I don't really know when exactly it arrived.

This part of the process is usually fast and smooth, it's after the Bio appointment when the real waiting starts... can be 3 months, 6 months, 2 years.. blaah

Like other suggested try a walk in first. I got my biometrics Friday and was scheduled for 8/31, but since I will be out own state I went to ASC and I was able to have my biometrics taken, just approximately 2 hours after I received my notice in the mail.

First you may try to do an early walk in, meaning you go to the office assigned before your appointment in hopes they let you in and do your biometrics, some offices will allow it, some ask to come back and some deny it. If they won't allow you to do your biometrics early and you can't attend when they scheduled, you'll need to ask for a reschedule, and they'll assign another date. It takes time and I don't think you can choose

Like other suggested try a walk in first. I got my biometrics Friday and was scheduled for 8/31, but since I will be out own state I went to ASC and I was able to have my biometrics taken, just approximately 2 hours after I received my notice in the mail.

That office is 2 hours away. I dont really want to spend an entried day driving there and getting denied. I know a couple people who tried to make a walk in in that office and it didnt work for them so I dont think it will work for me.

I guess I just have to wait and hope my appointment is on a day I can leave :(

Just got the notice in mail! The notice date is August.17th, waiting for the biometrics mail now! ??

Congrats! We have the same notice date & i also got mine in the mail today??

Our AOS Journey:

March 1,2016 - I arrived in the US with a B2 visa (visitor)

Day 00: August 4,2016 - we submitted our AOS package (I-130, I-485, I-765) (USPS Priority Mail)

Day 0: August 8, 2016 - Package arrived at USCIS Chicago Lockbox

Day 1: August 9, 2016 - Received date in NOA (Form I-797C, Notice of Action)

Day 9: August 17, 2016 - Notice date of NOAs

Day 11: August 19, 2016 (12:26am) - received email notifications that our application has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

Day 13: August 21, 2016 - all cases receipts are working online. Registered for email and text alerts.

Day 14: August 22,2016 - got hard copies of NOAs on the mail. Notice date is August 17, 2016.
Day 44: September 21,2016 - called USCIS to follow up my biometrics letter. I was given a referral number & was advised to wait & call again after 30 days if biometrics don't arrived. (30 days should be October 21).

Day 67: October 14,2016 - called USCIS again and request to talked to a tier 2. Tier 2 made request and sent it to my local office. Advised to call back again on the 29th if the biometrics letter don't arrive.

Day 84: October 31,2016 - received biometrics letter in the mail (finally! Almost 2 months from NOA 1 date)

Day 88: November 4,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Case was Approved' on October 31.

Day 91: November 7,2016 - received EAD approval notice in the mail

Day 98: November 14,2016 - Biometrics appointment in Tampa (in and out within 35 mins)

Day 99: November 15,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'New Card Is Being Produced'

Day 102: November 18,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Card Mailed to Me'

Day 106: November 22,2016 - I-765 (EAD) updated online to 'Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office' and found it in the mailbox! :)

Day 112: November 28,2016 - Applied for SSN

Day 118: December 3,2016 - SS card received in the mailbox :)

Day 172: January 27, 2017 - Received a text message from USCIS that there is a change in my case. I now have a schedule for interview and it's on March 2!

Day 175: January 30, 2017 - Received the Interview Appointment letter in the Mail! :) 

Day 206: March 2, 2017 - Interview schedule.
