So I was checking my greencard and saw that my card expires in 2026. Does that mean I no longer need to remove conditions in 2 years?

Thanks.

That would be awesome!! Did you have an interview and sign that piece of paper re the 2 yr condition? If you did, I suggest that you verify w USCIS to avoid future problems. That's what the immigration officer told me in my interview if I somehow happen to receive the non conditional GC.

I had no interview since I came in as K-1. From reading I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to get a card with a 2 year expiration date. I'll give USCIS a call on Monday, especially after finding this topic: K-1 Wife Got 10 Yr Green Card.

Sigh. I hope I don't get charged for their mistake.

Hope you guys don't have the same problem as mine.

My understanding is that if you are married for more than two years you don't get the conditions however if you are married for less than two years you are given conditions for two years

Yes, exactly. We have only been married for a couple of months. Which is why I thought something was wrong with the card issued to me.

Me too, San Jose office here as well. Got my ead but no update yet on my i475. Still "fingerprint fee received" since August 22... ?

The time line only shows their oldest case they work one so dont listen to this. My local office still shows November 2015!!! some times there are just cases that take forever but this doesnt mean you have to wait until they moved their time line to August 2016.

The A# stays always the same and never changes doesnt matter what. Think of it as a SSN for immigrants you get one and it stays the same no matter what.

Thank you!

My intrerview was scheduled on Nov.9th. I think that's the date on the interview notice. I got the notice in the mail a few days later after they scheduled it.

I think the processing timeline is not very accurate or what I have heard is the processing timeline indicates the oldest case date that they are working on, which means maybe they still have one or a few case back to December, 2015 that they are working on. But it doesn't mean that they are not working on any newer cases. I think they just have to update the timeline based on the oldest date. I forgot where I read it but no matter if it's true, at least we know they are actually working on newer cases either way. I do hear that marriage based green card application is faster than employment based.

Hope you get your interview soon!!

Thank you guys for the responses!

I am with San Francisco office and my status is still on fingerprint fee received, too. And yea, I thought that the indicated timeline was just a reference, so I have been waiting for my interview notice to come lol. Fingers crossed guys!

Hey guys, I am wondering how much notice USCIS gives when scheduling the I-485 interview? We are planning a trip back to Haiti at the end of January. I'm assuming that if we haven't gotten notice of a scheduled interview by now, there is no danger of them scheduling it for while we're gone? It took them 3 months to even give us the biometrics appointment, but then we got the EAD/AP card a week later. So I'm all confused about the waiting times for AOS. Also, the biometrics was scheduled in Pittsburgh; is it safe to assume that's where the interview will be?

Thanks!

What ever you do, do not miss your interview. That said, they give at least a month notice.

It seems like most people get their interview notices 3-5 weeks ahead of time. The interview should be at the same office where you did biometrics.

Depends on where you live in a small town maybe but in a big City like New York where there are many offices, not so much. My local office is different then the ASC for biometrics.

Anywhere from a month to a year depending on your field office and how busy they are.

Thank you all for your replies. So now I guess we have to decide if we can go ahead and buy plane tickets and risk having to change them, or wait until the last minute and pay more. I'll be so glad for the day when USCIS doesn't control our lives so much!
