I am checking around 100 cases near ours...seems like today is a slow day compared to last week. Anyone else seeing much action?

No action in my 500 case section (my received date is August 19th). Maybe they will update later tonight.

I don't really see any straight dependency on either MSC number or received date because I constantly see cases both behind and in front of my number and received date approved. Almost all EAD cases ~10 numbers close to mine were approved by the end of last week. But yeah, today they are kinda slow working/updating cases online.

They definitely don't approve them in the order they were received, but cases close to one another do tend to move together. I've been looking up the 500 case numbers after mine since the beginning, and lots of RFEs got sent out around the same time in mid-late September, then a few approvals for EAD/AP started trickling in mid-October, but in the last ten days of October tons of EAD/AP cases were approved, a number of interviews for I-485 scheduled. There are always some outliers - a case that gets approved way ahead of the pack and some that really lag, but in general people with similar dates get approved around the same time (give or take a week or two - which I know feels like forever when you're just waiting for the approval!).

On friday we recieved both a hard copy letter saying that our petition for permanent resident had been approved and we received....drum roll please.....the ACTUAL GREEN CARD!!!!!! This is so exciting my husband is now looking for a job and we both feel incredibly lucky that our case moved so quickly. The website hasn't updated to terminate our ead or ap application, but I guess it doesn't really matter now.

We are now going to start working on:

getting a social security card that doesn't say "valid for work only with approval" or something like that. I'm not sure how to do that yet, but hopefully it isn't terribly difficult.

getting my husband on my health insurance

getting him a credit card in his name so he can begin having credit

Good luck to everyone as you continue your waits. I hope that everyones approvals come as quickly as possible.

I remember you from the K1 January filers.

Just send what they requested. Mailed an RFIE on monday, by Wednesday, it was already updated on the USCIS website.

Sometimes the person that you present the documents to at the SSN office is clueless.

Cheers!

I got my SSN like 2 weeks after I got to the US which made my life a quite bit easier while waiting for EAD. I actually changed my last name and got another card with my new name meanwhile. But waiting for EAD is kinda frustrating as it's been 70 days already since I filed my AOS package. Hope, I will get to hear from USCIS anytime soon...
