Moving to US while spouse is awaiting UK citizenship - has anyone experienced this?

Hi all

Our story so far: My American husband has been living in the UK for 10yrs and has Indefinite Leave to Remain here. We decided we'd like to move to the States with our dual citizenship son.

We completed I-130, police check done and fine, medical done and fine, Ds260 visa application submitted and fine. THEN we find out if we ever want to return to the UK, my husband's ILR would not be sufficient for us to be able to do this, so we had to apply for him to naturalise as a UK citizen.

We've held off on saying we're ready for interview a while but now the clock is ticking as my medical runs out on October 8th, so we've booked an interview for myself at the Embassy for September 13th.

Obviously there's a chance my husband's citizenship won't be complete at this point and I know we have to fly together for me to enter the States.

I was advised on another thread that he could fly to the US while waiting for his UK appointment for the naturalisation ceremony to come through. We have a postal address here in the UK we can still use so in theory we could do this and he could get mail which our friends could open, then he could fly back to the UK for his citizenship stuff.

Has anyone actually done this? It makes me a bit nervous!

I know our other choice is re-taking the medical and holding off on the interview but we're currently homeless and staying with friends so we have that extra pressure to move!

Thanks in advance for any help
