Don't worry!! You're K1, right? The instructions on CEAC's tracker are a bit confusing; its telling you to pay an invoice and submit a DS260 right? That is only for the IR1/CR1 Immigrant visa- technically, the K1 is a non-immigrant visa with "intent to immigrate" because the visa is only good for 90 days, when it's assumed you'll marry and apply for AoS. You can ignore those instructions. In a couple of days, your status will adjust from At NVC to In Transit- no further paperwork or payments required :) this freaked me out too, to i did some research on that DS260 and saw only IR1 petitioners were filling it out. Your fiancé/e can still use the case number to book their medical and fill out the DS160 for their home country. Check your embassy's forum for tips and instructions :)

Omg I was high key freaking out about it. Makes sense now, thank you!!! I'm beneficery actually. Was able to book my med exam without giving them case# ?

Btw we should all just get together and throw a huge party once we are there. This whole thing is so nerve racking lol ??

No i totally understand i clicked that little "for more information here" link too and nearly had a heart attack because i was like !!!none of the guides say anything about this no one's mentioned it am i crazy!!!! Haha! The worst, this process is gone make me grey before my time. Your only wait now is to book the embassy interview, for us they wouldn't let us do it until the case was at the embassy, which apparently happened about 10 or so hours after CEAC said "in transit", and it changed from "at nvc" to "in transit" after a couple days.

Yes please giant immigrant party for survivors of this hideous process!!!

This is only for IR-1/CR-1 applicants. K-1 visa applicants have already paid their fees and will not be invoiced for the DS-260; the K-1 beneficiary instead has to pay for and fill out the DS-160, which can be found on their home country's embassy website.

Wow, lot of approvals. Congrats to everyone who got their case approved.

Fiance just got his package from the US Consulate yesterday and he made an appointment for this medical today. The consulate in Auckland,NZ needs all the paperwork before the interview in like 3 packages and not on the interview date. Need to get through package 2 and then we can make the appointment.

I just called NVC and got our case number!!! It only took two days!

The lady said it can take 4 weeks to get to the embassy and that there's no website where I can track our documents at NVC

This is incorrect info though, right?

Haha yeah, this is definitely incorrect. You can track your case here: >> https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx <<

Just need your case number. It is tracked as an immigrant visa. Your case should still say "At NVC" - ignore literally everything else in that box. it's meant for IR1/CR1 applicants. In a couple days, your case should update from At NVC to In Transit (this is the 4 weeks she's referencing... i don't know anyone recently who's had to wait that long, but someone said it took them 3 weeks for their case last year so it does happen) and once it's In Transit, that's generally when you can start booking your embassy interview.

Good luck!!

Our lady misspelled our case number. But because of first three letters it was pretty easy to figure out the correct one.... Humans ??

OMG! How dumb!

When the guy was repeating my case number and said "LND" i asked "N as in Nancy?" and he was like "no like London"

omg people
