K1 Signature questions(+ a few others)

Hello everyone! So, I had hoped to have had my K1 petition mailed by now, but it appears to be taking me way more time than I had originally anticipated, and I fear that the process keeps becoming more and more complex. :crying: I have a few more questions I wanted to ask pertaining to signatures, and was hoping the VisaJourney community could help me out.

1) I realize that my fiance (the beneficiary) needs to sign two forms for me to turn in with my package. One is the G-325A, and the other is the letter of intent to marry. I was wondering, can these be signed by her, then scanned, and then emailed to me? Or do they need to be signed in ink and mailed to me? (She lives in China, so the email option is EXTREMELY preferable if possible.)

2) Does the letter of intent to marry need to be personalized, or can we simply download the template/example listed here on visajourney and replace the blanks with our own information?

3) For proof of our relationship within the last two years, we have plenty of photos, however none of them are time-stamped by our cameras/phones. Can we use the photos and simply write the dates and locations of where they were taken on the back of the photos in pen, or would this not count as sufficient evidence?

4) On the G325-A, under the employment section, can I include the dates I was a student in University? I have only held one official job while in college, and it was while I was a student. Could I list my occupation as student and put from August 2010- December 2014 on the first line, and then as my second occupation put (Target employee May 2013-August 2013) on the second line? Or should I put my time working as a Target store employee first and then put the fact that I was a student on the second line. Or should I exclude the fact that I was a student entirely?

Thanks for the help everyone! :)

1. Signatures must be original. So she has to mail them to you,

2. Letter of intent does not need to be personalized. The example is fine.

3. You need proof that you were in the same location. Airline tickets (boarding passes), hotel receipts.

4 Assuming you currently have a job, that goes on the first line. The first line has to be what you are now doing - it should be a job. If unemployed that goes on line 1..

. Line 2 would be Target in 2013. Line 3 would be None (student)

1. She can sign, scan and email them to you. It's not until the interview they might require original/wet signatures.

2. Use the example, we did too.

3. Write date and place on the photos. Add passport stamps, plane tickets/boarding passes and such too that'll show dates and place.

I just saw a comment on RFE where they wanted the original signature on the letter of intent. Maybe they will, or maybe they won't. Instructions say original.

They did get RFEs for that a couple of years ago. Since then there hasn't been any to my knowledge. I'd like to see where it says they have to be original, haven't seen that myself.

For the K-1 scan and email to you for printing is fine. At the interview they should be original with wet signatures. This is how we did it and this is how I declare it on my website for those who are processing through the Philippines and NONE have said they got an RFE.

I was wrong, The RFE was for a missing letter of intent which the beneficiary was mailing from the Philippines. They did not think to scan.

The K1 guide here says original letters of intent:

I'm the kind of person who'd rather do too much than too little, just to "be on the safe side". So I sent everything with wet signatures. But it's not necessary, OP will be fine with the scanned ones, and it's more convenient when you're not in the same country.

Thank you, Robert. VisaJourney is full of recommendations (which is good), but if USCIS doesn't require wet signatures then it's perfectly fine with copies. Whatever they say goes. :D

Good luck on your journey btw, Sun. (F)

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. This is a difficult journey to say the least, but these tiny bits of encouragement always feel like a great pick-me-up!

Instructions do not ask for an original signature, and have not since 2013.

Go for original signatures.

Attach as many photos as you want and also add airline tickets, boarding passes etc. which show proof either of you traveled to meet. Good proof will approve your case much quicker.
