Correcting Mistakes on I-129F/I-130

To my horror, I just realized that I put the wrong date of the issue of my Certificate of Citizenship. (I put the date I became citizen, not the date the certificate was issued). Do I have to send in both forms corrected with a cover letter attached explaining the mistake, so that they would consider the corrected petitions instead of the ones I had sent initially? Where do I send the corrections? (My I-130 is in the California Servicing Center right now, and I just sent the I-129F to Chicago).

That is what I thought. But I just noticed that on my certificate, there are TWO dates!! One is when I became citizen, and another when the certificate was issued, which was TWO years later! I guess in my case it is because I became citizen through my parents, and the processing for my brother and I took longer, so we received our certificates later.

The general consensus is that submitting additional documents without a specific RFE is often pointless as it won't get matched up with your application.

This does not seem like a serious error to me - you included the date you actually became a citizen & your certificate number, hopefully that will be good enough.

ummm...I have just discovered that I had also listed "NONE" for husband/wife field in both of our G-325A forms in the I-130 petition packet...So much for double-checking. I think that if I list the NOA1 reference number, they should be able to match it up with the case, if not by last name.
