it depends, i dont think anyone has any answer. Did you reached L2 officer on BG check status

Hi txaim,

I know that you are stuck in background check also. my husband talked to L2 officer before but get different answers. one said they received the result from FBI. However today got a letter from uscis it doesn't say very clear on whether the background check is clear or not. but say this case has been delay by background check. They will reach out other service for the reason. this case has to be in line from beginning for interview.  very confused.

From other post i have see the PD is retained while scheduling interview, ( eg, if BG cleared today, it will be scheduled immediately ) .

he got a letter from uscis and it said uscis can not remove an application from its current location in the processing queue and place it ahead of other application already received. I really don't know what that mean. his window has past already. When is his turn? You guys are in the same boat. hopeless.

I believe the case starts with IOE. Many of IOE are struck in BG. Looks like only option is just to wait.

I just got a bunch of SMSs and emails saying my status finally updated again to schedule an interview, but the system isn't showing me any updated notifications yet in ELIS. Is this the thing people usually have to wait 24 hours to get the PDF for?

Pretty bored of twiddling my thumbs on this application now.

Hi,

Try this link for the meantime: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

For the ELIS, I waited at least 48 hours until I see a change in my status and uploaded file.

The email from them does say "testing and interview" so I know it's that _finally_ being scheduled. The case status page confirms that.

Anxious to know the date, though. I've got a bunch of international travel coming up. I hope it's easy to reschedule if it lands badly.

Did you checked earlier, why there was delay on your case?

San Francisco field office is just really slow. No other reason.

Also, be ready to apply for your passport. I go to Canada quite a bit and I didn't think of what it means to give your green card back! No traveling until you have your U.S. Passport.

That's me as well! I have my passport paperwork ready to go as soon as I get that Nat. Cert. to go with it!

hi guys, my interview is tomorrow. And i kinda nervous, i think i messed up with Selective Service, i got my first green card when i was 25, and applied for citizenship when i was 28( applying through marriage ) and i didn't register for Selective Service. I found out about not long time ago( im 29 now) but i know its very important and can turn my application into denied. Anyone has any experience with my problem? Thank you

What to bring during interview? Thanks

The letter will tell you what to bring.  But at last second she asked me for proof of continued marriage, so I brought tax return and insurance cards (which weren't on letter) so thankfully I brought them.

Hi all happy to report I'm an August 10 filer and was approved today at the Los Angeles Office.  The whole interview lasted 17 minutes, the IO was delightful, I was asked (paraphrasing):

How long is a US Senator elected, Name One Branch of the Government, Who Serves if Prez/Vice Prez can't, How Many Amendments to Constitution, How Many Chief Justices, What is Rule of Law.

Received text message in parking lot about 10 minutes after interview I would be receiving an oath letter, I'll write more detail later but if you're an LA Office Interview it went smoothly, on time and trouble free.  My visa journey is a month away from setting in the sunset.

Congrats Christian! :)
