Our cases are not at the same field office. You should not compare my case to yours. Each field office has different processing time. Just wait patiently.

Simply ask the Tier 1 officer to transfer you to the Tier 2 officer. Usually, they will ask you if you would like to schedule the call back. Hope this helps.

ChristianZane How do you know about the date?thanks

I was LA and that was how long it took for letter to arrive and they plan it for one month after you receive letter, so I would say April 28 or May 1 (as the 29th is a Saturday), let us know when you get it.

Passed my interview. It was simple and stress free.  The officer was professional and she went through all the questions on the application, ensured they were all right.

Made sure to go through the name change I requested. I made yet another change in person. She was accommodating and made no fuss about it. Made the correction, printed it out and had me sign it and added that to my file. Did not ask to see anything except Green Card and letter.

Asked six questions. Got all six right. Then asked me to read and write a sentence.

That was it. She gave me a letter saying I was approved. I requested for an early oath due to my surgery. I had a request letter ready and passed it on. She read the letter, added it to my file and sent it over for scheduling. She said she was making no promises but would send in the request. By the time I got out of there, and even before I could start my car got a message update saying I was approved.  Just got home and ELIS tells me I am scheduled for my oath ceremony.

I hope it is soon. One another person that I met at the interview who is from the Blacksburg/Roanoke area as myself mentioned that they need a minimum of 25 before they can schedule the ceremony and that takes about 3 months. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yay!

Hi everyone. As my interview date approaches, I'm getting a little more nervous. Mostly because I have no idea what to expect. Have any of you taken taxes for all of your years here to show residence? Have you taken anything else? Im not even close to have been out of the country for over 6 months but I have taken a lot of day trips to Vancouver bc which are difficult to show any proof for (since we just drive there). After I submitted my n400 application I also traveled to Europe for a couple of weeks. Do you think they'll give me a hard time about that? Should I bring whatever I have from that trip? (which isn't much, maybe some email confirmations)

Hey Javierita, you have no reason to worry. I took all original tax transcripts since I became a permanent resident, but the officer didn't even ask to see them. I also took all the documents listed in the interview letter (original birth certificate for my spouse, all my passports, original marriage certificate...etc), but nothing else. The officer did look at my passport and all the stamps. As long as you satisfy the continuous residence and physical presence requirements, there's no need to worry. Day trips to Vancouver don't count, only trips longer than 24 hours. I left the US 3 times after my N-400; I went to Canada, Turkey, Singapore and Cambodia. The officer could see that I had been out of the country additional times than the ones listed on my application, but I had a list of those additional trips (destinations and dates) ready to give her and she asked no further questions. I didn't take any boarding passes or hotel receipts, just the list and the stamps in my passport. Good luck on your interview!
