I went ahead and talked to an L2 yesterday. They could only tell me that my file was last touched in September and that it was just waiting for a slot to become available for an interview. I specifically asked if that meant I have cleared the background check and he said he couldn't tell, that he could only see what he told me. I wonder, if he could see that I am waiting to be scheduled an interview why has my status online not changed to "in line for interview" especially if it has been just waiting for a slot since September. The whole IOE issue makes it even harder to determine because there have been September and even October filers who already had interviews and oaths, which I asked about that and he only offered to send a request to my FO so I could get a letter explaining the delay. I am guessing it'll be some generic response alluding to the same reason he gave me initially. I am not sure if talking to an L2 helped me but I figured I'd report my experience for whatever's worth.

Could you update your timeline?  No mention of N400 there so hard to follow your situation, thanks!

I went ahead and updated my timeline.

I am also on the chart for the group's posting members, I believe I am at the bottom of the Phoenix Lockbox column.

Thanks!

Hi everyone

Just wanted to post that I passed my interview and that my oath ceremony is on February 16th in Billings MT. It was very straight forward and took about 45 minutes. Good luck to all.

That is great news!!! Congratulations! Any "weird" questions?

Thanks. There were no difficult questions. It seems they are selected in advance and printed out on a page for the interviewer to read to you. Then your responses are written down on the form and checked as correct or not. I can remember I was asked who acted if the president or vice president were unable to lead, then to name one branch of government and what did the declaration of independence do. My mind has gone blank for the others!

Great thanks, my NOA date is August 10 (Los Angeles) so we're in same boat, I'm told not to even bother calling until February 10, so that's when I'll file a Outside of Normal Time Processing Request which has worked in past.

I have heard nothing from USCIS regarding my case status and I'm starting to worry.

Case processing times on the website make no sense to me.

Hi phunkyvida,

I don't think it is time to worry (yet). The way I understand the chart is that on Nov. 30, 2016 your FO was processing May 1, 2016 -- that means they have a current 7 month processing time. Because this was posted on Jan 11, 2017*, that means they have been working for a while since Nov 30 and are now probably somewhere early June (with holidays and things). Based on this, I would assume that you get your case will be processed in about 2 month.

When it comes to being worried, most of us here are in the same boat, as most of us haven't heard anything in a long time.

* regarding the posting date: i remember to have read somewhere that they post their status about 2 month later because of accuracy ... dunno ... I just checked my FO and according to this, they processed 1 day since the last update (it was May 1st on Oct 31st.) -- But I know of July filers (IOE) who have their interview scheduled ...

My status says:

"Status Message: USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice."

I only signed up for the USCIS website on Friday to check on the status, so I'm not sure how long it has said this message. Recent Notices doesn't show the document that they would be sending.
