So, the update I got over the holidays... It's for a second bio appointment. Grrr!

 

Scheduled for 1/12, but I'll be out of town so I'm going to try a walk-in tomorrow or Monday.

 

I messaged them to find out if the second was a mistake, and they just confirmed back to me that they had a record of my bio in September2016, but did not confirm if this second one is a mistake or not. I swear, they don't even read the messages you send in ELIS, and all the responses are just sent by robots.

Well, I went in to the SF ASC today and did my biometrics for the second time on this application. They were super helpful, as usual, and let me do the walk-in.  They didn't know why I had to come back a second time - the guy said normally there's a code on the letter that tells them something about why, but mine was blank. So, we did the biometrics again and they said if I had problems again in the future and had to come back, to bring all my notices with me and they might be able to help (I forgot to bring my first one this time, and he said if I had done he might have been able to figure out what was going on). 

 

Edit: And I just checked my case on ELIS and my status updated.  "USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice."  I guess going to the ASC unclogged my case and I'll get the date in a day or three! I'll let the thread know when I know!

I got updates that they twice could not process my FP and I need to bring to the interview the police clearances from the places I resided for the last 5 years. Maybe that's the security breach that was described in the letter we all discussed before? Who knows, maybe just FPs were not taken professionally. I actually didn't like that I had to do it myself and the guy was just directing and telling me what to do. Then I went to the FBI website to read the instruction and you really need to do it the right way otherwise there is a chance the FPs are not going to be read well.

I don't think it was the quality. The people at the SF bio center are SO GOOD. They take your hands and press them just right on the machines etc. They're very thorough and professional. I really doubt it was something they did - especially since they said they had no info on why something might be wrong. I honestly think it was a USCIS/computer mistake, but at the end of the day, it does no harm for them to get my set twice.  As I updated, my status seems to have updated now to what I assume is the equivalent of "in line for interview".

I was talking about my situation. I think the guy was unprofessional.  I also ordered police certificates from two countries I resided and they made mistakes in my name, on both of them!!! I had to redo them again. Anyway waiting on an official letter for my interview.

Tomorrow January 11th will be 5 months from my priority date and still no updates from USCIS .... I'll probably start calling them or even going for an InfoPass to my local Field Office in Santa Ana, CA. 

 

Any pointers / advice / suggestions on what should I ask since I'm an IOE filer ?  Should I just ask if I'm " In line for an interview " ??
