That news sounds like it is recommending; I doubt they have truly put a halt on things... check the previous month's before us status to see how things are rolling

It doesn't sound as recommendation at all to me. It sounds imperative "NOT to approve ANY or oath any naturalization in ELIS" "The email went on to REQUIRE that ANY scheduled naturalization ceremonies be cancelled and that no naturalization applications be approved"

It is an order, guys, not recommendation written more or less in a reserved manner, because it is an official letter. They won't do anything until they have resolved the problem. How long it will take and what it will take, we of course, can only guess. It depends on the kind of benefit categories it effected. You can read the questions at the end of the letter. They are concerning and the result will depend on the answers to the questions, of which we again know nothing.

Interviews will go ahead, I think. We just won't know if we have been approved until we get run through the FBI system again.

I spoke with a L2 today regarding my case. I was informed it's down to the Denver office and was informed it could take between 5-8 months. I also asked about the news regarding the FBI name checks. I was told it won't affect new applicants such as myself, just the people that have had the interviews and oath ceremony. Hope this clears up the mess ?

I think he meant that 8 months is the longest it should take, I think he was just covering himself, hopefully I should hear something in January fingers crossed. The Denver office is very slow, I think it's will all the weed smoking here

The 8 months was quoted as a start to finish, I applied in August so he said 8 months from then, which takes the time to April but more than likely February. I have an IOE # but my I-797C has NBC noted on it as the Service Center.

thanks Dave, that is excactly what my attorney said yesterday as well after I emailed them about this info. he said that only people who were interviewed already need to wait for a new oath date and approval, after the background checks are redone. it does not impact us who are waiting for interview.
