This is exactly the runaround I got as well. I finally pleaded with my congressman that this is affecting me personally (my fiance is pregnant overseas and I am waiting for citizenship to bring her in) . They finally sent a formal letter to the FO and the FO responded that they will order file from NBC and schedule me ASAP. Whether it was just the process taking its course normally or if it was the congresswoman's pressure I will never know, but I would say keep in touch with congressional aide and keep pleading your case.

Thanks I will do as you suggested.

Getting pretty quiet here amongst us August filers.  That is probably good new as most of you have gotten your cases processed.  Anyone out there though still with their case still stuck at the NBC?  If so, what are you doing about it?  So far, all my attempts have been fruitless.

Thanks,

Emil

I am still stuck 08-15-16 filer. Did biometrics on 09-04-16, pending since than.

contacted congressmen, ombudsman, had Infopass appointment, everybody has different versions ( stuck in background check, in queue for interview, still in process)

not sure what else to do, but was  advised by many to just wait.

Hello 5unny,

So looks like we are in a similar boat.  I have gotten similar answers, "still in process," " in queue" etc.   If it is in queue, we should have gotten an interview notice by now, if it is still in background check, not sure what background info would take over a year to obtain.  The sad thing is that it appears nobody can do anything or give you any details what the hangup is.  And the avenues that are supposed to help, appear to be useless.  I have seen people in these forums who have had these hangups and being lost in the system for years.  I sure hope we will not be in that group.  "Just waiting" doesn't give me a warm feeling, when I don't know if my case is even alive in their system, or what it takes to nudge along.

I am a 08-14-16 filer and was in the same boat till about 15 days ago when till they finally scheduled me for an interview. All the best to you. I am guessing mine finally moved due to my congresswoman pushing on the local field office. so keep trying that avenue.

Happy for you, best of luck with the rest of the process.  Glad to hear that what was stuck, can become unstuck.  My file apparently is still at the NBC, which from not what I read is actually the office to issue the interview notice and then sends the file to FO.

Again, thank you for the encouragement!

You read right, that is the official line I heard from the FO . However, when my congresswoman contacted the FO, they sent her the following response "The Mount Laurel Field Office has requested Mr. xxxx's file from the National Benefits Center, and once it arrives, we will be scheduling him for the soonest possible interview date. Please feel free to follow up with me if he does not receive any correspondence from our office within 30 days."

Thats why I said keep pushing on Congressional Liason to try and followup.

Hello fellow Visa Journey Member

I am a August 2016 filers too (N400) application for naturalization. the following date are my timeline.

August 8, 2016 - sent out my N-400 application for Naturalization

September 2, 2016- Biometric ( seems fast)

May 2, 2017- interview in Chicago office ( but IO cannot make a decision in my case that day)

May 5, 2017 - Got approved! and updated my case to be in line to schedule for my Oath Taking (Yahoo!!!)

Sept 15, 2017 - still didnt get my Oath taking notice (129 days had passed) called USCIS # and they all giving me the same answer "You are approved but there still no time and date for Oath Taking"  really? i know this fact already. now they want me to make INFO PASS to ask what is going on to my case? are they kidding me? they can ask from their end what is going on to my case and tell me what they've heared from the higher officer? the frustration in my end is just building up. i wanted to visit my country but i dont want o worried that my Oath taking Notice will come in the mail while i was in vacation. i am still trying to make INFO PASS but still no luck on getting one... anyone in here that in the same situation?

Morning,

For you fortunate enough to have an oath ceremony scheduled, or done with the whole process, how was your oath ceremony notice communicated to you?  Did you get a letter and and an e-mail, and a notice in USCIS myaccount?

Thanks,

Emil

Yes the letter comes from Lee's Summit.

First my case was updated online (with the email and SMS notifications) and then I received my letter in the mail a couple days later.

I'm a August 2016 filer as well and became a citizen in July 2017.

Congrats Frage!!  Looks like your journey was relatively quick.  I wasn't planning on it, but may very well become the last August 2016 filer to get through...:(

So both the interview notice, and the oath notice came through in myaccount?  I may have to change address in the middle of this and I know that can be an issue for the mail, even if one does change the address in the system.  So I am really hoping I can trust that the notifications show up in myaccount.  I know there is also egov site but not sure how many use that one.  Anyone have the skinny on what that one could be used for that myaccount does not?

Thanks,

Emil
