Damn! Why are people like this doing this type of job? They should work for the complaint department at Sears or something! I sure hope there will be a good outcome for you; it is ridiculous for this moron to take their bad day out on you, the innocent bystander

I"d sure like to know what her husband's opinion has to do with whether your case is legit or not. I thought this was the country where you could chose what was accpetable for your lifestyle/how you socialize, not where the rules are dictated. ooops my mistake! :o

I hope everything turn out for you, despite her ugly mood.

AT THE VERY LEAST - while this is fresh in your brain - I would right down a detailed account of what happened. One account in your words and one in your husbands. I would date it and sign it and file it away in case I needed it - which I don't think you will.

If you choose to do this, then mail a copy of it (or better yet, a signed original) to yourself and don't open it when you get it. The post-mark will serve to properly date your account of the interview, so that nobody can say that you made it up at a later point.

Thank you all for the support. As you can imagine we had a miserable night last night. We both cried. We thought it was going to be an easy approval. We are a legitimate couple and are very much in love. Our families are supportive and cannot understand what happened. I don't know what we could have done differently. It was not our fault we were the last case of the day. We have always had all documentation and never received any RFE during this AOS or K1. I don't think age difference is a reason for denial when everything else is in order. Thanks again it is so comforting to hear all the kind words from people who know what it is like to deal with INS. I am not sure they understand the harm they cause.

lalbrandow,

My heart goes out to you! I wish the best for you. Everything will be ok.

Some people on this board gets so upset when people beg and plead to go to California. This is the very reason that I prayed for my case to arrive in California. No person should have to be degraded to be with a loved one. The immigration process is heartless and unfair. I would pray 100 times more NOT to have an interview!!

Oh my! I am SO sorry about your experience. IMO there is no cause to treat people like that. Especially when they come to you respectfully. I would DEFINITELY complain to a supervisor about her behavior. It seems like there are just too many people in USCIS that have not been trained properly to do a customer-service job. If I had acted that way at my job I would have been reprimanded immediately, maybe even fired if I'd based a denial on my bad mood.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all that stuff; but, this is a prime example of where it would have been well worth the money to have a GOOD attorney present. I am sure he/she would have steered things in the proper direction. Of course you had no way of knowing that ahead of time.

t

Today we had our interview. It was scheduled for 2:40. We waited until 4:00 to be let in. The CO who called us in was obviously in a foul mood. She walked us in and went through the formality of swearing us in. She then looked through our file and pointed out a picture I had originally sent in with K1. She said it was "shocking" because I was sitting with a low-cut tanki top. She stated that what ever possessed me to send in that photo. I told her I applogized if she found it offensive. After that she pointed out that the photos were only of him and I and no family members were present. I told her we were in his home town and that my family was not with me. I told her I brought some more photos where my family was present. She wasn't even interested in looking at them. Later she asked me for 2006 taxes, bank statements, etc. I gave her what she asked. She later said that she would have us come back cause she was in a bad mood. After looking through our file again, she asked if he had ever been illegal here. We both answered no and she proceeded to reprimand me for talking for him. She told me to be quiet and to speak only when asked something directly. She asked me about prior marriages and children. I told her I had three. She asked how they felt about their new stepfather. I told her they were coming around. She said she couldn't beleive that they would be ok with him. Later she made the comment that her husband worked for a school too and that they would never agree to a relationship where the man was younger to the woman. She asked him if he had ever socialized with my coworkers, when he said yes, she was amazed. She said her husbnad would never approve of such a relationship of a coworker.

She ended the interview by saying that she was in a bad mood, that we weren't even her case, that someone called in sick and that she was tired and wanting to go home. She said she would send her answer to us later and that we will recieve a letter stating her decision. I asked her point blank if we were denied. She said she wasn't making a decision yet and that if she did, we wouldn't like it. As she escorted us out the door, she said that FBI name check wasn't done yet. She never looked at anything. She just said that only my husband knew if there was anything negative and that he could tell me anything that wasn't necessarily true:angry:

I am so frustrated I don't know what to think of this person. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Unfortunately she never introduced herself to us and I could not find her name anywhere in her office (I looked). She was an older lady of about 60. The other odd comment she made was "Did you start dating him when he was under 18?) huh? She had his birth certificate in front of her and the dates that we met, got married, etc. He is already in his late 20's.

One more thing I noticed, she removed the I-94 from his passport. Does that mean anything?

Many times the I-94 is removed from the passport. But I think usually they tell you why they are removing it.

She was just too rude to function.

Lucy N Bebe, we had an interviewer like that at the consulate in Mexico, he placed us on AP, because according to him he wanted to make us wait to see if our relationship was real. He humiliated me and my hubby, he called me a crybaby.

I wrote to my Senator, to Ombudsman at Washington DC and to his chief officer at the consulate. Something was done about it. When my hubby was called in for another interview, he was approved and the CO Interviewer told my hubby to congratulate me on the letter I wrote, that it was very good and he would never forgive me for getting reprimanded.

No one has the right to disrespect you in any way, you should not feel bad. You will get what you deserve in the end, she will get hers!
