My wife and I have an interview date for a K-3 visa really soon. Her country has been giving her the run around about what she needs to do about changing her passport from her maiden name to her married name. I was wondering if we could go to the interview with her passport still in her maiden name even though the I-129F has her married name?

The answer is YES. The visa is issued with the name on the passport.

06/01/2007 Visa arrived !

06/03/2007 Mayday on the plane POE Cincinnati

Living in Maryland

06/21/2007 Welcome Notice from USCIS

06/29/2007 Applied for SSN at the local Office

07/07/2007 Green Card arrived

07/09/2007 Another 2 Welcome Letters from USCIS...God, they really love me! :D

07/20/2007 Social Security Card arrived

My wife and I have an interview date for a K-3 visa really soon. Be careful that if you do get a new passport, try to keep the old one (when my wife did this, they punched holes in the old one so it can't be used again) I say this because at the time of my wife's interview they asked to see the old passport which had a visa issued to her last year by U.S. I don't know if that is the only reason they asked to see it or not, but now we've been delayed a bit because of this.

So if you do get a new passport, bring the old one along with the new one to the interview.
