Hi guys,

Have anyone translated birth certificate yourself?

Its hard for me to reach Brazilian Embassy in New York to have it translated to English. Can I just have my cousin translate this for me?

If so, can someone just give us the template of what to do or so on.

I thought he needs an oath or sthing to swear that he has fluent English and fully responsible for translation.

is this possible?

Any suggest would be so much helpful for us.

Hi guys,

Have anyone translated birth certificate yourself? Most of us have done the translations ourselves. After all, this is a DIY website.

Its hard for me to reach Brazilian Embassy in New York to have it translated to English. Can I just have my cousin translate this for me? Yes.

If so, can someone just give us the template of what to do or so on. Google "USCIS translation"

I thought he needs an oath or sthing to swear that he has fluent English and fully responsible for translation. That's what the USCIS translation block is for.

is this possible? Yes.

Any suggest would be so much helpful for us.

Hi,

Anyone who is fluent in English and Portuguese can do the translation. Follow the layout of the original document and include the USCIS translation certification block. Follow the USCIS example.

Best of luck.

Yes, Thanks Aaron. After posting this question I also googled and find some template, but there is no mention for Us embassy in Vietnam. I check K1 instruction, it states they needs original Birth certificate. not sure if they need certificated translation or just original translated document with copied Portuguese Birth Certificate?

My Fiancee and I only translated the pertinent information from her birth certificate. I don't have it in front of me right now, but it was basically the following.

Certificate Number

Date

Mothers Name

Fathers Name

Date of Birth

Location of Birth

Witness Names (all of them)

Here's a link to an example form you can use.
