Media hypocrisy about grieving parents on full display

so, when are you going to put it into perspective? was this it, the attempt at perspective?

the khans are pointing out that their son is not welcome in trump's 'future' america. this is what trump is running on, bigotry. keeping people out based on their religion. very relevant in this election. you can't twist that back on them with nonsense about how long ago their son died.

mrs. smith's speech, in my mind, is the equivalent of if the dnc had forced mrs. khan to speak about her dead son, even choking back tears and prompting her to wildly blame trump specifically for her son's death, at the convention. which isn't close to what happend. the parents are not blaming trump for their sons death. also, they are responding to an aspect of his campaign platform.

meanwhile the gop paraded mrs. smith's misplaced grief around like macy's and thanksgiving. disgusting display.

and trump can't attack hillary's foreign policy experience, because he has all of absolutely none.

don't be mad because trump is proving unable to properly censor himself. for the life of me i don't get how any of you think he's capable of being a world leader.

Deep down I don't think any of them really think he's capable. They're stuck voting for the booby prize simply because he's wearing an "R" on his sweater. It's fun watching them twist and spin to attempt to justify voting for Trump. No matter how much one hates Hillary Clinton, there is no logical way they can sit there and say that Trump is a better choice.

And they honestly believe this. I've been blocked so much for asking just basic questions about Trump. Any criticism of him gets you attacked. I was called a taco bowl one time, couldn't do nothing but laugh.

For the most parts, his people fall into 2 distinct categories. The majority are the ignorant, low information voters who honestly believe every word that comes out of his mouth. You can tell they have little to no education and when gently pressed they go all out attack mode and/or block you. Perfect example. Janelle made a post about Mrs. Trump not having a degree, one poster said, neither does Obama's daughters so there! She literally compared two high school girls to a grown woman and thought it made sense.

The other side of the coin are like the people here. Folks who have a semblance of intelligence but are constantly suspending belief to rally behind a man who should never be allowed on the WH lawn let alone the inside of it. But there's something else behind it, and if I say it here, I'll be called out for it, even though I can prove that I'm right.

1 Trump did not serve his country, received multiple deferments. Thus son if immigrants volunteered to serve.

Trump was a wuss for avoiding military service when called to duty.

2 Trump wants to supress immigrants from Muslim countries. These folks would not have a chance to come here if left to Trump.

As do I, in the context of muslim immigrants from Syria and such. If they want to come to the USA, they need to do it the same way all immigrants do, thru a visa & vetting process, not en masse as Obama has suggested.

3 Such views by Trump is a personal affront to these parents who love their adopted country and list their son in its defense.

They can stand in line to be offended. They came over the right way, and should hold others to the same standards they had to comply with, regardless of religion or country.

4 The couple failed on their quest to get Ryan and McConnell to repudiate Trump and failed. The DNC gave them a platform to make their case. They made their case effectively.

The DNC was NOT the platform for their issue. The dems only allowed it because they felt it would hurt Trump's campaign; it had NOTHING at all to do with one dead soldier, which Hillary obviously cares nothing about. Surprised she didn't say "what does it matter, after 12 long years?"

What other questions do you have. Like many people the thought of a Trump Presidency makes the nauseous.

As I stated in my original post, their story has NOTHING to do with the current election. It was simply a smear campaign designed to make Trump look bad. Shame on the dems for this under-handed play. But that is par for the course that Hillary always plays on.

The Republican Party I know and love is the party of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Ronald Reagan.

I wear a bracelet bearing the name of a fallen hero, Matthew Stanley, which his mother, Lynn, gave me in 2007, at a town hall meeting in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. His memory and the memory of our great leaders deserve better from me.

In recent days, Donald Trump disparaged a fallen soldiers parents. He has suggested that the likes of their son should not be allowed in the United States to say nothing of entering its service. I cannot emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trumps statement. I hope Americans understand that the remarks do not represent the views of our Republican Party, its officers, or candidates.

Make no mistake: I do not valorize our military out of some unfamiliar instinct. I grew up in a military family, and have my own record of service, and have stayed closely engaged with our armed forces throughout my public career. In the American system, the military has value only inasmuch as it protects and defends the liberties of the people.

My father was a career naval officer, as was his father. For hundreds of years, every generation of McCains has served the United States in uniform.

My sons serve today, and Im proud of them. My youngest served in the war that claimed Captain Khans life as well as in Afghanistan. I want them to be proud of me. I want to do the right thing by them and their comrades.

Humayun Khan did exactly that and he did it for all the right reasons. This accomplished young man was not driven to service as a United States Army officer because he was compelled to by any material need. He was inspired as a young man by his reading of Thomas Jefferson and he wanted to give back to the country that had taken him and his parents in as immigrants when he was only two years old.

Captain Khans death in Iraq, on June 8th, 2004, was a shining example of the valor and bravery inculcated into our military. When a suicide bomber accelerated his vehicle toward a facility with hundreds of American soldiers, Captain Khan ordered his subordinates away from the danger.

Then he ran toward it.

The suicide bomber, striking prematurely, claimed the life of Captain Khan and Captain Khan, through his selfless action and sacrifice, saved the lives of hundreds of his brothers and sisters.

Scripture tells us that Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Captain Humayun Khan of the United States Army showed in his final moments that he was filled and motivated by this love. His name will live forever in American memory, as an example of true American greatness.

In the end, I am morally bound to speak only to the things that command my allegiance, and to which I have dedicated my lifes work: the Republican Party, and more importantly, the United States of America. I will not refrain from doing my utmost by those lights simply because it may benefit others with whom I disagree.

I claim no moral superiority over Donald Trump. I have a long and well-known public and private record for which I will have to answer at the Final Judgment, and I repose my hope in the promise of mercy and the moderation of age. I challenge the nominee to set the example for what our country can and should represent.

Arizona is watching. It is time for Donald Trump to set the example for our country and the future of the Republican Party. While our Party has bestowed upon him the nomination, it is not accompanied by unfettered license to defame those who are the best among us.

Lastly, Id like to say to Mr. and Mrs. Khan: thank you for immigrating to America. Were a better country because of you. And you are certainly right; your son was the best of America, and the memory of his sacrifice will make us a better nation and he will never be forgotten.

Don't be so sure. Fear is a great motivator. The more he screws up, the more folks rally around him. This debacle over the Gold Star parents would have slayed any candidate(or ANYTHING that Trump has said or done), but as we've seen, people are throwing themselves in front of him like a shield.

Had a Trump supporter tell me that he'd beat Hillary in a debate because he's a stronger debater than Clinton. I told him, he'd win not because he's stronger, but because supporters have ZERO standards when it comes to him, but ungodly standards when it comes to Hillary. Trump could come out sounding like this, and they'd be like, wasn't that the best speech you've ever heard in your life?
