i guess if ur interview is scheduled with checklist it should be a case complete... u can always call nvc n confirm.. best of luck :)

You will still see 3rd N/A if NVC completes your case and even if you have checklist for interview.

Thank you guys :)

So, I had a checklist. They said they were missing our marriage certificate. We re-sent it on July 27. They said that was missing, and they also said that they needed my co-sponsors W-2 and birth certificate, but we would bring those to the interview.

How long does it usually take from responding to a checklist to getting the case complete? Is it going to be ANOTHER 30 days or do they clear it up faster when it's only one item?

Yes it will take 30 days even if it's one item. I know the wait is tough.

So I have all the items ready to go. Just need to print and sign it. I have my cover letter and the bar codded document ready to go. will post it tomorrow, can't do it today. I really hope that I don't get a check list. I have put everything in the order they have asked.

Yeah even I thought that they wouldn't take 30 days for second scan date. But unfortunately they do take 30 days from any scan date. Hope you get lucky and get your cc soon.

Yes write case number on every page except the document checklist page (from the welcome email) and bar code page from AOS payment and IV payment.

Does anyone have an immigration lawyer. I read in the wiki notes, that the ds-261 is automatically filled out and the Aos and the IV package becomes available soon after. Can someone shed light on this? As in does that imply spending less time at nvc?

I-485

[Day 01 ] October 4 - Status "Fingerprint fee received"

[Day 36 ] November 9 - Biometric Appointment

[Day 37 ] November 10 - Status changed to "Request for Initial evidence was mailed"

[Day 41 ] November 14 - Received RFIE notice

[Day 44 ] November 17 - Mailed off Response

[Day 47 ] November 21 - Status Changed to ''Response to USCIS request for evidence was received'

[Day 57 ] December 01 - Status changed to "Request for Initial evidence was mailed"

[Day 61 ] November 05 - Received RFIE notice

[Day 68 ] December 07 - Mailed off Response

I-765

[Day 1 ] October 4 - Status "Case was received"

[Day 1/57] December 01 - Form I-765 will be processed within 90 days of the receipt of the requested evidence

[Day 58] December 7 - No updates :clock:

The ds-261 is not automatically filled out. If you're using a lawyer then he or she will fill out the ds-261 to be your choice of agent to receive email notification from nvc.

Skeiamn,

what do you need a lawyer for? Like MrsBurgz said, DS-261 is not automatically filled out, you (if you are the agent) or a lawyer or the beneficiary fills it out electronically (i think that is what you meant if I am not wrong) and then after that yes your AOS fee is available, which you pay and then go over your DS 261 with NVC and then 2 days later they activate your IV fee, which you pay and it takes 2-3 business days for them to clear of that fee and then you can fill out the DS 260 electronically.

As for time at NVC, each case is different. it all depends but compared to USCIS, yes you do spend less time, hypothetically speaking.
