Just an FYI for all those that are wondering where your documents are once you case is closed and your documents are in transit to your embassy. You can track your package via DHL. You just need to know the date your documents were sent out. It works ive managed to see exactly where my documents are in transit.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/194465-how-to-track-your-case-from-nvc-to-embassy/page-24

Keep in mind this isn't an exact science and when using this tool you need to know when your case file left NVC (In Transit isn't enough) that means call. Just because you see a package for your embassy doesn't mean your petition is in that bundle. Petitions of all sorts leave NVC everyday (remember K1's go through NV also) That's why I advise just watch your in Transit to change to ready on the ceac site.

It is very frustrating to see others receiving their CC within 30 days of submitting documents.

Called the NVC again asking for an update, apparently they haven't reviewed the DS260 yet but the documents have been reviewed.

I ask them what it taking so long, their reply is that processing time was changed on May 25th, now it takes 6 weeks to review the case.

I told the rep that I am on my 7th week since I submitted the documents and close to 6 weeks since I filed the DS260. Then she said it should be reviewed by this Friday and I should call back on Monday to see if the case has been reviewed.

Then I asked her about the "missing marriage certificate", she responded saying it should take an additional 6 weeks to review just the marriage certificate. I told her that I've resent the marriage certificate and it should arrive by Friday (hopefully before they start reviewing the DS260).

At this point, I do not understand why it should take 6 weeks just to review the marriage certificate (which I sent in with the package but apparently is missing) AND I never received any checklist either through email or mail.

Should I request an expedite? Since they never sent any checklist, my documents were reviewed on June 21st. And some reps said the certificate was there, other said it was missing.

Isn't your case# starting with MEP? You could have done EP filing and be done. Sorry

I am requesting to change consulate and just completed my DS260 should I wait for the result of my request to submit the DS260? Anyone who had experience a similar case?

You can submit but call V now if you haven't cuz it takes way longer if they already assign you a interview. Where you will interview doesn't matter with the DS-260. But call.

Can anyone tell me if the Acceptance letter tells you to do anything or is it the NVC letter that's important?

We got online approval on 4 August but still no snail mail. Trying to decide if it's worth chasing up or just wait for NVC letter?

I have not gotten a notice also approved on August 3rd. So we have wait for the case number.

Yes this will get you a checklist I suggest now while waiting ordering your tax transcripts so you can have that. Those are preferred because they have all that NVC and the embassy needs and no need to attach W2 because its included in the transcripts.

It's always Tax forms and W2 or Tax Transcripts.

Hi, Ive lived abroad my whole life, ive sent out my US taxes that i had never done before... i'm guessing i don't have whatever W2s are... also is there a chance I could send ouT my package to NVC without the transcripts (and hope for a CC with checklist?), since they might take a couple months to be made available?

I need help!! I received RFE for primary affidavit of support form

in part 5 sponsor's household size, please correct following

item 8 the household size must equal the sum of : sponsor + traveling applicants +household members filing a form i-864A

These are the forms that were sent:

me petitioner i864 (household size 3, spouse , me, and dependent child)

joint sponsor : sister( filed tax return with husband ) i864

her household member sister's husband - i864a (because he also had some income and filed joined taxes)

my question about RFE they are saying add people from i864a, but that's my sister household not mine.

how should i correct the family size? or is this is an error ? (there was no error or rfe for joint sister affidavit of support form which represented the most support)

please help i am confused. its a very tiny thing but i want to make sure it is not an error? any help is appreciated.
