So I called NVC right now to check on whether they have my mail yet or not even though it arrived at their location on friday, is anyone getting the message that there is a large number of call volume at the moment? If yes, what would be the best time to call? So they don't have my mail in the system yet.

I usually wait half an hour and try again, but in general, you're calling them at around 7pm their time if you just called, which is when everyone will be calling. I have had good luck at around 11pm to midnight their time, but also early in the morning. And of course "your average man's working hours", so between 9am and 11am and 14am and 15am their time worked well for me.

well I reside on the east coast where the nvc office is as far as the time zone is concerned and usually people are getting home around 7 pm but the call probably starts around 5 pm (because that is the time when most people get off work and call). but interesting to know that 7 pm is the time when most people call. I will try again later i guess.

Finally...scan date is 08/08/2016 and they told me 6 weeks to review so that means September 19, 2016 is what I should wait for. So quick question, should I wait exactly that time or has anyone tried calling at least 2 weeks or so to see how far they have gotten or every week? I was reading Saylin's information and according to her we should be proactive or did I read that part wrong for this period. Someone wants to put in their experience? thanks

Okay so freaking out here as I've probably done too much reading so if anyone can clarify?

Ds-261 arrives by snail mail but only if you don't have lawyer?

Ds-260 can be submitted online?

AOS and IV package everyone sends via snail mail but I haven't read anywhere how it gets received?

How do you post both together if you are in different countries?

Am I missing something or got the wrong end of the stick ?

Just to add, according to this page you can choose email or mail processing if your case starts with SYD (which I assume stands for the consulate in Sydney): https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

That's concerning immigrant visas. However, I can see you've entered K3 in your profile. Are you filing for a K3? The process might be different then.

USCIS Process:

2015-09-21: I-130 sent

2015-09-28: NOA1

2016-02-03: I-130 approved (NOA2)

2016-02-11: Case sent to Department of State

NVC Process:

2016-03-01: Welcome letter from NVC

2016-03-24: Choice of Agent (DS-261) completed online

2016-03-31: AOS and IV fees paid

2016-06-26: IV application (DS-260) completed online

2016-07-05: Financial and civil documents sent

2016-07-07: Scan date at NVC

2016-08-06: Saw 3 N/As, confirmation pending

2016-08-05: Case Complete (confirmed by phone on 08/08)

2016-08-12: Interview Scheduled

2016-08-16: Case in Transit to Embassy

2016-08-17: AOS N/A changed back to "Paid"

Embassy Process:

2016-08-18: Case arrived at embassy, status changed to "Ready"

2016-09-28: Interview Date (administrative processing, missing police certificate from third country)

2016-10-20: Received police certificate

2016-10-24: Police certificate translated

2016-10-26: Taken original, translation and copy of police certificate to embassy

2016-10-31: Visa issued

2016-11-02: Visa in hand

POE:

2016-11-17: POE in New York

Hi all. I submitted DS-260 in mid June, but sent the package to NVC in July (scan date july 25th). I got a checklist dated Aug 1st saying they got my documents but they are missing my I-864 plus financial and civil documents. When I spoke with an agent, she told me the case has been reviewed for the last time on June 30th (i have not sent anything except the DS-260 in June). Is it possible they reviewed my DS-260 form and thought they have lost my physical package and that is why they sent the checklist? Cause it sounds quite suspicious that they reviewed the whole pack in just 5 days and generate a checklist. Any thoughts?

Thank you! Yes we submitted I-130 and after I-797 were advised to submit I-129f incase i-130 was delayed. Our I-130 was approved so our I-129f has been closed and updated with I-130 reference numbers so we are in the normal queue ?

Sounds to me like they haven't yet processed the document package you sent. If you're sure they got the package (got your scan date from the call center), I would wait and give them some time to get to it. Were the documents on the checklist included in the package you sent? It could be a false checklist.

No, they will not. Check the CAEC website for 3 N/A's. It is a good indicator for case complete.

Yup! All required docs in a folder. Package was received July 25th at NVC. Agent confirmed. That's what I will do - wait till august 25th and see what happens. I'm almost sure it is a false checklist but wanted to know VJ family's opinion ? I see Bulgaria on your timeline. Is that where you're from?
