I am in the same situation likewise. In my case it was my sponsors form I-864 that I noticed that the gross income was documented instead of the total income from their form 1040 though they are well over the poverty line.I will call and ask if it's OK as the paperwork is there to back it up and if when cc it can be brought to the interview. I just pray for a smooth sail for us all.

Yes, its just that my husband used the gross pay in his W2 instead of using the total income in his federal income tax return. I was hoping that they will overlook this one since we got paperworks to back it up. Could you please update me what the operator will tell you once you call them. Thanks.

Hi Guys i have been around for some time now (Mainly not logged in) I just want to thank all of you that have given such great advice! My case got approved on the 4th August! So exactly 30 days from my scan date. Just an FYI to all of you that put in a request to expedite.. Our expedite was approved on the 14th of July via email, in the email it said i needed to submit copies of various police certs and my birth cert. In the original package all these documents were included but i thought because my case was approved for expedite I needed to send these documents through again with the email confirmation. Just following exactly what the email said! Well actually what that does is re-sets your document reviewal time! I got an email stating that i needed to wait another 30 days for my documents to be reviewed. I phoned NVC and explained that all the documents are in the first package and there is no need for them to review the second one. Luckily it got sent up to a supervisor all all worked out!

My big question is, now that my case is complete and my embassy has approved my expedite how long does it generally take to get an interview letter and a appointment date?

Thanks, not sure if you are interested but here's my history and time line. I'm a Brit, hubby USA. Married since Feb 2014. We applied 1st Feb 2016(that's the received date and priority date from Nebraska, May 13th Nebraska contacted us to say it's all good next stage NVC, then it sort of went quiet, but I got my criminal record check done. Then June 26th Nvc asked us for fees and the next set of forms. We paid straight away and with confirmation of payment sent everything in on 28th June (I don't think our attorney did next day, which annoyed me, I would have paid ANYTHING to get it there asap! Nvc got it July 6th. My hubby is in our house in Florida, in March I came back to UK, had our baby and have been waiting. Good luck to you. Not sure if you are doing this from within USA or like me outside....

Thank you! I'm currently still in Bulgaria and my husband is in the US. It's been a long time apart due to the immigration process for us too. It's tough but hopefully it will be behind us soon. Best wishes to you and the little one :)

You don't need to send proof of relationship that you sent to USCIS again. If you are talking about the welcome letter checklist that mentioned proof of relationship, that will be only applicable for form I-864A. You will need to send proof of relationship only if you are filing I-864A. Good luck!

Hi guys, how are ya? I live in Brazil and am just getting started on the NVC stage and waiting for them to get my case. A few little questions if anyone can help:

1. What is Scan Date and CC?

2. I just moved this week (it's near my old apartment do I can still pick up correspondence whenever I want), What is the best way to update my address at the stage I'm in?

3. I unfortunately found out too late about the need to file taxes with the IRS since I've lived in Brazil my whole life, and sent out the package this week and even had to go with the streamlined forgiveness something something procedure since I hadn't filed FBARs (documents stating I had foreign bank accounts)... Does anyone know when I will have the IRS filing obligation covered with NVC? Do I have to wait for the IRS to enter my transcripts into the system or something? how long does this take?

4. We sold an apartment and should have easily over 100k dollars in the bank (Brazilian bank) in the next couple of weeks. I read that I can sponsor my wife by myself if there is over 60k dollars (3x125% of poverty guideline). I also heard that some officers have been arbitrarily denying people without co-sponsors that live abroad. thoughts?

That's all for now... I'm reading up on the NVC process and it seems like it has a bunch of weird quirks... any help is welcome!

Good luck to all of us!

1. Scan Date is the date that NVC actually receives your documents that you sent. CC is Case complete. Up to 6 weeks from scan date but taking about a month if no checklist. Checklist is a request for more or additional info.

2. Call NVC 1-603-334-0700 for address change update.

Yes, we did. I think it was correct for us to use the I-864EZ since he will only use his salary as shown in his recent 2015 fed tax return.

What got me really worked up was that he used the gross pay in line 1 of his W2 in the total income part of I-864EZ instead of using the total income that was written in his federal tax return. However, it still is above the poverty guideline, hope this won't cause a checklist.

Thanks!

I really hope you do not get a checklist then. I really hope the whole above the poverty line thing works here.

I was told if it's a minor error as mentioned above then the beneficiary will be asked to bring along to the interview the corrected document.
