You don't need to do anything. You just go to your interview at the day and time on your appointment letter from NVC and the embassy/consulate will be ready for you.

Thank you so much B&Z

Thanks. I called them last night and they did not have interview date for me. I think it is because my PD is in April. Yours is in Feb.

Can anyone confirm if NVC schedule interview date based on PD or CC date? Anyone know about the scheduling process?

Thanks,

Finally coming home with my wife. I came to Ghana last Monday. Her visa was issued and printed out on Monday. My senator contacted the embassy and told I needed to fly back with my pregnant wife. If they can get everything ready for us this week. So the Consul General emailed my senators office and told them they will get everything ready for us on Tuesday. When they got it done, they called us on Tuesday wanting to know when we want to come it up. Picked up her visa yesterday and we flying out tonight Ghana time. POE going to be Washington DC then another connection to Kentucky. She 31 weeks today. JV family, thank you so very much for all your support and love. Congrats to all those who got their interview dates, approvals and their visa. And those who are still on AP, keep pressing on. Don't give up. Cheers!!!??????

Congratulations. Mercies Journeys. :goofy:

It might be pointless to post this, but anyway... It's been 10 days since my IV/AOS packet was received at NVC. I received the e-mail from them saying that they will review it "within 30 days" since 8/16. Now, would it be too early to call NVC to check if it has been reviewed? I've heard of instances in where they are not so consistent with sending their e-mails and whatnot, so you won't really know if it has been completed or not. Also, I've seen other timelines in where there has been a CC within 8-10 days of the packet being scanned (I'm not saying that it might be my case, but who knows... it might take longer, I don't know.) But yea, I'm getting a bit anxious with this, what if I get an RFE? I would rather know so I can try to fix things as soon as it comes up.

By the way, congrats to those who have gotten a Case Complete and interviews set up!

I can't wait to get to that stage. :clock:

Are you or your spouse a citizen or green card holder?

Hi Incinerate.246 - Congrats on your interview date.

I called and asked NVC regarding my interview. They still don't have my interview date.

Is your CC really 8/19 or is this the date you received an email letter from NVC? Generally, NVC send out CC letter a week later. The reason I am asking this is because your timeline dates don't add up. Your timeline says NVC received your case on 7/21 but then you are sending them IV packages on 7/19. So, I am thinking your CC might be a week before 8/19.

NVC told me that they schedule interview based on CC date until they run out of appointment slots. Only for approved expedited cases or cases that have some exceptions are scheduled ahead of other cases.

Did you expedite your case or have some sort of exception? Also, can you please confirm if 8/19 is the day you received you CC email or that's the actual CC date? Please confirm.

I am really losing my mind here :-(

Thanks in advance..

what is that room ??/

You might have read other posts about being "taken to secondary". A new immigrant cannot be processed at the regular CBP desk. When you enter the US at your POE - a new immigrant hands over the packet (the envelope you are not supposed to open) at the primary immigration desk. The CBP officer will look at the items in the envelope, then either call another officer over, or, shut down his/her line and escort the new immigrant to another room for secondary processing.

The officer in "secondary" looks through the packet, enters information into the system, and processes the IR-1/CR-1 visa by stamping an immigration stamp in the passport just next to the visa foil.

Because you can't really estimate how long both the primary and secondary processing will take, that is why most of us counsel that you have at least 2 hours between flights if you are connecting to a flight after your POE.

"Secondary" is nothing to be afraid of. It's just part of the necessary bureaucracy.

I will try to clear it up for you. I physically mailed out the package at the postal center on 7/19. We called a few days later and NVC said they received our package and our scan date is 7/21. I have been tracking the case ever since via NVC case status tool and it always said "At NVC". on 8/19 the status was giving us an error status. That's when we decided to call on 8/19 and they said your case was completed today and currently waiting for the interview. We NEVER received at any type of notification. No email or letter. We called on Monday again so see why we did not receive any notification and to see when we can expect an interview. They said it takes a week from case complete to receive an email and no interview was scheduled and it can take 60 days to get an interview date. Today marked one week and we received no email so we decided to call again and they told us the reason we never received any email was because we have been scheduled for Oct 3 interview and we will receive a different letter confirming everything.

I am positive the case was not completed a week earlier since we tracked it each week. We did not expedite the case at all. I wish we received a formal written notification but we never did. As for why they scheduled ours and not yours I am not sure =\. If you recall, during the I-130 stage they said they go by PD which was not true because people with a later PD got approved before I did. And there are still some Feb I-130 that has not been approved yet till this date. I am sure your interview date will be coming soon. When i receive a letter in the mail I will let you know. Just hang in there, you are almost to the end.
