Quick review of my Interview. I will be posting full review soon. So the interview went very smooth. Our interview was at 7:30 and we got out by 8:45.
CO asked who is calling you? (My wife)
What does she do?
Which state does she live?
What do you do?
Does she cook?
Which is your favorite food that she cooks?
Does she watch TV? (yes)
Which is her favorite show? (Game of thrones)
Do you watch Game of thrones? (yes, Did not miss any episode)
Did you read the book? ( He said No)
You are Approved!
And CO was very friendly and before leaving he told him do read the book once. LOL
I think our CO was GOT fan too :D
I Thank God for everything. The process was so smooth and they did not even ask for Photographs/ Proof of relationship. Also, they did not ask for any AOS related documents except for W2 (This was not really required don't know why she asked. But they returned it back).
For those having the interview soon. Stay confident and it will all go smooth.

That sounds like one heck of a fun interview, eljourney! Glad it was easy, although, I have to admit I would fail with a GoT fan

Guys ... Visa issued :) hopefully next week I will collect my passport luckily embassy is just 5 min drive from my home.. I wish all the best to everyone :)

Congrats, Sameer! It must be great to be this close to the embassy :D

Had my interview yesterday and APPROVED! :dancing::dancing::thumbs::)

Looong wait but only got asked two questions specific to my case. So happy very happy!

1. How did you meet your husband

2. When did your husband go to the US

They asked everybody these questions:

1. Have you ever been outside your country

2. Have you ever been arrested

3. Who is filing for you

Can't wait to be with him (L)

Congratulations, Keas!

Finally "In Transit"

Congrats! I bet that it will soon switch to "ready" if it hasn't already. seeing that switch is such a wonderful feeling :)

I will answer this again for this year, since it was a huge question last year.

"Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview."

This sentence is the singularly MOST confusing of anything that NVC has ever written. It is standard on the P4 letter, and it generates more questions that any other instruction. Here is the translation...

IF it is after April 15th, and IF you did NOT submit 2015 tax returns with your AOS package (I-864), bring updated Federal income tax information with you to the interview. IF you have a sponsor who filed an extension for 2015 (this means either the US Citizen or a co-sponsor), and your I-864 packet included proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent (meaning 2015) Federal income tax return to the visa interview.

Check and see if you have any of the "IFs" mentioned above. If not, then you do not need to bring any updated tax information to the interview.

Sukie in NY

Thanks for confirming it, Sukie! I read through the P4 letter and was freaking out at first (I read it half asleep). It took me another two read.throughs to get that it was not needed in our case because the if's didn't apply. Phew!

Received Interview email letter scheduled for 9/28

Congrats! You got yours so much faster than we. For us, it was an agonizing wait :(

approved today :)

Guys we got approved today. soo happy the journey is near its end, the final is port of entry. Excited :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Congratulations! <3

Wow .. i just checked CEAC site and the visa is been issued :dancing: .

Congrats, Rezgar! You will be reunited very soon :dancing:

Saw 3 N/A on 8/19/16 so I called NVC and the rep. confirmed that my CC was on 8/18/16. Now waiting for my husband's interview date for Freetown, Sierra Leone. Anyone has any idea about how long it usually take to get interview date for Freetowm, Sierra Leone after CC.

Congratulations, Janneh! To get an estimate, check out dwheels' spreadsheet (linked in the first post on this thread), if you haven't done so already :)

Thank god my husband's interview went well. He has been issued his visa! Interview was on august 22.

Congratulations! I really hope it will go as smooth for us in less than a month <3

Yeah! That means it's at the embassy!

Mine is still "at NVC"

Your file will be in transit very soon, MrsBurgz! <3

OH SO WHAT DOES TAHT MEAN REALLY TOUCHED WHAT HAPPENS THEN

When your file is touched, it means they received it, added something (your medical, if you don't bring that with you on the date of the interview), or when they review the papers to prepare for the interview.

Stupid question but do we need to take photographs to the medical?

Check your country-specific infos, Krutharth.

the same size as the interview :dancing::dancing:

Not necessarily. The doctor's office I went to for the medical requires our size passport pics, they have sent people away who carried US-sized passport pics only to get new pics.

wow ok I have that it just says that today it was touched

If your case arrived today, they touched it in that they scanned it to show it arrived :)

the same size as the interview :dancing::dancing:

Congrats.. How did his interview go? My wifes interview will be on the 25th in manila and what should we expect? Thanks

Hey! With my husband's experience he was at the embassy for 2 hours and had 5 minute interviews. The most of the time its just waiting in line or to be called.

Good luck to you both :dancing:

Hi!

I saw your thread and was curious, since I will attend the interview in Guangzhou too. Did the interview letter you received specifically suggest that a CGI account should be created? I am scheduled for September 6th, and I just had my medical done in Shanghai last week. As for now I don't have a CGI account yet. Would you mind telling me what it's for?

Yes you have to open an account with CGI they will be the ones you get your visa back from. Go on their site and register a new account and follow the instruction. Very easy. Good luck on your journey.
