1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 2

That's the visa application DS-260 form which you submitted online. Just take the DS-260 confirmation page to the interview. The letter next to it states which application you need to take to interview. You just have to match the document status code definition to determine the meaning of the code.

Hey everyone just checking in after a long time. A month ago July 19th was my husbands interview and we got placed in AP. We were told that we will have our passport back within a month. Its been a month for us and not even a single update on our case. Its really agonizing :( anyways congrats to everyone who got approved and congrats to those with case complete and interview dates. And good luck to everyone in AP, hang in there our day will come InshAllah

Really sorry to hear this long delay for you. Have you emailed them to see hat's up? Was he approved at interview or given 221g? Get your Senator or congressman involved.

My husband stays with his parents so we have used that address. My question is, how can we change the address because we will be shifting to an apartment. And if we don't will that be a problem? If we change address will that affect the receiving time of greencard somehow?

You already had interview so personally I would not change the address since it is a reliable address. Too many issues and mistakes when people change address once they arrive.

Has his SS card arrived yet? Just make sure the mail person knows he is to receive mail there. So much simpler.

been here almost 2 months exactly and still haven't received the social security nor green card. I went to the social security office and they stated that it could be an issue with the length of my name as to why the process for the social is taking so long. I am unable to work because I don't have the social nor green card yet. I've called to check on the green card and it stated that I should give about 120 days and if I do not receive it by then to call back. What else can I do? I never thought I would have to wait this long for social security card. My wife is telling me not to stress about it but I can't help but to stress. Can anyone help in informing me where to call or whom to call so that I can receive my social

We put his parents address too because it's a stable address and he's moving apt we plan to use that address for now so we don't miss any mail. We'll just check for mail for us ever so often. Plan to change address after we get the green card and SSN.

I was thinking the same thing of not changing address just thought if it will be a problem while getting job and during the next process because what if they ask why I didn't change my address.

I will be immigrating, im the wife. Not yet in US. Yes his parents know we have given their address for everything and they have no problem. So I won't change the address until we change the city. Thanks alot.

Yes that's a better idea. I was thinking it's a stable address and don't want any problem regarding this. I will think same after receiving SSN and greencard.

Once you have your SSN and GC, change you address then. There will be no problem getting a job. SSN or GC do not have address listed in it. Also, if employer asks you why the address is different, just tell them that "Your in-laws" address is the permanent address and you request all your mails in that address.

I have moved many times outside the cite and state and stiill use my brother's home address as a permanent address because he owns a house. I never had any issues and no employer ever objected to it. Have your in-laws call you once you get your SSN and GC and you pick those from there.

I hope this helps! Take care..

All you can do is keep calling SS office with your reference # you got. The customer rep had given us her desk number snd I called daily. Took 2 weeks fir them to verify my husband's status and nane. Once they got verification back we had SSN in our mailbox 7 days later.

Green card isn't an issue you don't need you have your temp so just stay on SS office get a time frame how long keep asking.
