Can you tell me the steps for lifting conditions and if this is the final step?

Will she need another EAD or will this make her a legal resident of the USA?

Is the 751 all that is needed and the documentation of course?

The fee is $200.00. No hidden fees?

Thanks in advance.

The steps are listed in the VJ Guide and the uscis.gov page for Removing Conditions.

The work permission question is answered on the uscis.gov page for Removing Conditions.

The Application procedures are linked on the uscis.gov page for Removing Condititions.

The correct fee for the I-751 is listed on the Forms page at uscis.gov (your stated fee is not correct).

All of these pages, and many of the answers, can be found in the pinned post at the top of this forum; please do some reading and see if your questions are answered:

Lorenzo: I saw on your profile that you filed for a K1 Visa and from your question it seems that your fiance or wife doesn't have the Green Card yet???

If that's the case, if she came with a K1 Visa and hasn't adjusted her status yet, then she needs to do that...that will give her the legal residence.

If she already has her Green Card and it's a conditional one (that is, it expires after 2 years) then she needs to apply to lift the conditions after 1 year and 9 months from the date she gained her Resident status.

BUT she can't lift conditions if she hasn't adjusted yet (that is, if she's not a resident and doesn't have the Green Card yet). If she still has to do that, check out the Adjustment of Status section.

Good luck!

Ok when was your interview with the INS? You can apply 90 days prior to 2 years from that date. If she has an EAD, you have a few years to go before you have to worry about this step. If want you want is just a check list of things you should keep for this step, then there's a number of posts on here saying what you should be saving up in the next few years for the I-751 process.

Don't go by the fees from anyone. Before you're actually ready in the process to remove the conditions always check the INS site that was posted above. They change their guidelines and fees every so often, so you need to have the correct information.

If you are saying you're expecting the interview (AOS) to be complete in April, then you should file for the I-751 (Removal of conditions) in Feb of 2008...

If you are at work maybe so. If you are at home take the extra time. You took the time to give me all the references. I see jasman has nine hearts and you have but four?

Thanks.

P.S. FYI I believe the hearts are an indication of how much you post; i.e. first you get the squares and then you get hearts over the squares.
