can i get the medical done before the interview date assigned?

my wife is travelling and I thought of getting the medical done in Saudi before her travel (RID case). the visa interview has not been assigned. case is still with NVC. any suggestions?

Not a good idea as she has to travel to US withing 6 months of medical exam not 6 months of visa approval

you are still in NVC

Be patient and wait

i know it is hard but you don't want to take chances of trying to jump the gun

wait for your instructions

When the visa is granted the medical report will be in the sealed packet by the embassy to be opened by an immigration officer at POE only. If you haven't traveled withing 6 months of the medical, then the report in the sealed packet is no longer valid and you cannot simply show your new medical to the officer at POE. You have to redo medical and also visit the embassy to give you new sealed packet and/or give you a new visa too. Overall, you will run into lots of hassles if you don't travel within 6 months of your medical.

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

2015-09-23: NVC received file

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

Most clinics will not do a medical without interview letter. Is her interview to be in Jordan or Saudi Arabia (I pray not UAE)

the clinician actually agreed without any hesitation. the interview will be in Saudi.
