I figured this out! I simply hadn't gone quite far enough in the steps on the usvisa-info.com site where we schedule the interview date. Figured out you can download the instructions in a PDF if I just clicked 'Continue' once more -- I'd originally been hesitant to do so since I thought it implied we'd paid the fee by that point, which we hadn't.

Hey guys,

We had registered for the DHL but no email. Will had mentioned in a response that we may get an email with a PIN and also be able to download the payment instructions so we are still expectant and hopeful. On that page, after registering, we are able to see her name and the DHL service collection center we chose. However, unlike you Krista, when we click on continue, it takes us to the next page but there is no downloadable PDF yet. I'm guessing maybe it takes a couple of days for the service people to upload that into the portal? Thanks everyone for your response.

I believe that we received the email within minutes. Have you checked your spam folder?

Yup, I've checked. Another VJ Ethiopian K1 visa hopeful said that I may be ahead of myself because I haven't received an email from the NVC about our case being sent to the embassy. Did you get such an email, Will? I read some folks saying they never got one. I'm beginning to guess maybe our case has to change to "Ready" or atleast "Arrived" before we get that but I font know that that's the case. Puts you in limbo.

Hey there! Sorry, I don't know if I didn't specify clearly. My letter from the NVC stating that our petition was on its way to Addis came via snail mail, not email. Read your NOA2 carefully again. My NOA2 stated it could take 2-4 weeks for NVC to process your petition. They may simply still be processing it. Your step at NVC may just not be done yet.

Hey Krista, you are right. I did read the NOA2 and it takes 2-4 weeks. I just know that most countries can book an interview once the applicants get their case no. I understand that embassies have different requirements and procedures. I just wanted to have peace knowing that our case status now is not as a result of my error since everyone said they were able to print the PDF. Will even said he got an email instantly after registering the DHL, all that we never saw. I remember you posting about the difficulty in printing the PDF. So I will look and see when you posted that message and see how far away you received your NOA2 so I get a rough assessment if I am just way ahead of the curve and myself. Either ways, she will call the service no. provided by the embassy on Monday and hopes she will get an explanation why she can print the docs. But yes it could be that it just needs to be in "Ready" status which could take two weeks even though I haven't seen anyone say it took that long. Thanks again.

Hey guys, I just wanted to report that our case status now shows "Ready" and I was able to finally download the payment instruction. I guess they still work on weekends or maybe very late Friday night. So good to know incase there are others who are way over the pace. One can't print until the case is in "Ready" status. Thanks Will and Krista.

Hey Will and everybody,

Quick question. Other than the payment instruction for the visa fee, is there anything else that was demanded upon payment? Thanks y'all.

No, I don't believe so. Having this confirmation page was the biggest thing they were looking for.

And, I am VERY happy to report we have another successful interview!!! They asked my fiance very few questions (how we met), asked to see my tax return (PRAISE GOD I decided to include one). Fiance mentioned right up front that I'm pregnant and produced a recent pic of me that I'd sent him with baby bump. The interviewer asked him some questions about the pregnancy, asked to see the other pictures he'd brought, and that was really about it. They gave him a simple follow-up paper with instructions in Amharic and English for when his visa would be ready.

That's great news! Congrats. We already made the payments for the interview and booked it 5 weeks ahead.

Hey everyone, hope all is well with y'all. For those of you who have already been through the process of getting the medical and police clearance done, did y'all have to get any of those certified by the foreign minister's office? Not sure where I read that and if it related to the k1 fiance visa. Please advise. Thanks.

My wife went ahead and got both of her documents certified by the minister's office. I don't think I read that it was necessary but a friend of hers said that it must be done. She only did it because it wouldn't have hurt anything.

Thanks bro for coming through as usual. I appreciate the info. I will be arriving there on the 20th as her interview is drawing nigh. Will keep in touch. Thanks again.
