I feel like I need to get to know him again... like someone else here said, to fall in love with him in person all over again. He's so mushy, wanting to hold and kiss me all the time, and I find myself pushing him back trying to gently say that I need to adjust first. I feel bad, I don't want to hurt his feelings, but I feel like I need to settle in and get used to it all again.

I went through the same thing. Don't make yourself feel bad. It's to be expected. When it happens, I think about lyrics from Journey:

And being apart ain't easy on this love affair

Two strangers learn to fall in love again

faithfully

I think it's quite similar when you get in situations where you don't see the other one for a long time. You need to fall in love again with someone you know but who somehow became a stranger.

It can take one hour like 3 days.

It doesn't mean that the feelings aren't there, they are they just take more time to come back up and it makes it harder to be physically close until you get used to being together again in person.

I'm sure he'll understand, just keep in mind that if you have the slightest need to get a hug or a kiss even briefely then got for it. It will make both of you feel better.

Also I think we dream so much of how the meeting will be and it's always so different from what we imagine that it makes it weird somehow (for lack of better words).
