Angilla - I wish I could give you a big old hug. You've got the biggest case of cold feet....and you just come right out here with it! Bless your heart!!

I remember when Wes came back for his second visit to me. We had only been apart like 10 weeks. But we had to 'readjust' to each other, even with that brief separation. I've read in many many threads here of that same effect.

Relax girl. You've wanted this and waited for it a very long time. Big deep breaths now - ok? Don't think about the 'having' to get married bit. Don't think about your April time off. Don't put that pressure on yourself.

Wait for tomorrow. Readjust. Fall in love - in person - all over again. Be realistic with eyes wide open. Let the feelings happen. You will know the right answer. I have a feeling it will be crystal clear to you, and that you won't be disappointed.

*hugs*

Things will be fine!

These feelings are completely normal. I was very nervous about the trip, immigration, etc., but things went very smoothly.

It's so nice now.

As far as the x-rays: my fiance had this in his carry on but I can't imagine the immigration officer ever asking for it. He was too obsessed with the 2 last name bit....

not the brightest of them all I have to say.

I knew I'd see the words that you have a way with, rebeccajo! Angilla, I couldn't agree more. You've spent so much time apart, and it's becoming REAL now that you're picking him up at the airport tomorrow. Of course you're going to be a bundle of nerves. But like rebeccajo said, don't think about the wedding - think about how good it's going to feel when you feel his arms around you at the airport, and smelling the smell that you've missed for so long. The anxious excitement feeling in your stomach.

I wish you all the best! (F)

I think what you are feeling must be normal. I know the last time I saw my fiance in Germany, it was a bit tough. After 4 days he finally said, I feel like I have never heard English before and I have no idea what you have said for the past 4 days. He speaks great English. I think it is just adjustment. Once I realized that, and I backed off a bit, then it began to go very smooth, and a few days later it was very natural.

I think I do not envy you, these are strong emotions, but I think it will all be very fine, in a very quick time period.

Congrats and really, have a darn happy life.

Amorcito, I hope she has a safe flight home to you! With the time difference our fiance(e)s will be landing just around the same time. :D Yes, I do pity my fiance - he always found out if it was the wrong time of the month by getting his head snapped off big time.:lol:

Rebbeccajo, you're cute! I came right out with it here because I didn't know who the heck else to talk to and I needed to talk to SOMEone who would understand... I figured VJ is full of the only people that would actually understand what I was saying. Yeah, you and bostonparis are right, we're getting too far ahead of ourselves and thinking about too many things. The time off from work can be bumped back if we need it to, but by the time it comes we probably won't WANT it to. One step at a time.

Bora, he actually somehow fit the xray in his carry on. When the officer asked him to open his bags he said he'd rather not because he didn't think he'd be able to get them closed again. The guy looked at the scan he took of the bags and agreed with him. He had to sit on some of his bags to close them! But he really wanted the xray crammed in his carry on so he did it. They required to see his brown do not open envelope before he boarded the plane. They didn't open it, they just needed to see that he had it.

ELW, wow, you guys have been apart longer than us. I don't think we would've been able to do it for 20 months. We were just saying last night that we feel SO burned out that we don't think we would've been able to hold on much longer. We would've found a way, but I'm glad we didn't have to. Wow, my heart goes out to you two. (F)

So, the update - his plane is in the air! I talked to him until he boarded the plane half an hour ago, and when I got off the phone I burst into tears hysterically sobbing. I can't stop crying. And I can't believe I'm awake at 5am on a work day! Leave it to me to be worried about a random terrorist attack that'd take his plane down and I'll never see him again. I worry WAY too much for my own health. It's a good thing I'm working 1/2 day today or else I'd sit around worrying about his flight.

What on earth are you doing up at this time of the morning? I have an excuse, what's yours? :P

Ahem... PROBABLY have both found the love of a good man? No. Not probably. We have. I love your pictures of you and Wes together, you two are adoreable. I can't believe there were times that we actually considered breaking up because of the stress and fights. I understand now why so many K1 couples don't make it through. It sucks that it has to be this hard to have what so many people take for granted just because he's not a citizen. But yeah, we go through the hurdles and the ####### for the love of a good man. We both have that, and we both will for the rest of our lives.

Stress, hon, stress. You've got no idea what's running around in my brain these days. But we'll make it.

As for the hurdles and #######, now that I'm on this side of the journey, I have to say those things really don't make you stronger as a couple, or prove how in love a couple are, etc. They are just what they are - part of the process.

But the separation - which is about to end for you - was an important part of your journey. Not because it proved how much in love you are. Because it's the point you need to return to - the memory of it - when the loads of marriage are heavy in days to come.

When life's burdens overwhelm and you are lost, you will be able to return to the separation and remember the lonely nights - the days with no return of a gaze of understanding, a soft touch of comfort. The quick memory of walking the path of love separately and distant will remind you why you love him still; it will quiet your tongue in moments of anger; it will remind you to apologize and forgive; and will reinforce you to continue to build the bond.

Today you begin all your tomorrows. Hold onto it. Never let go. Never.

I'm thrilled for you Angilla. :) I've been in your shoes too, although the time apart wasn't as much. Man, the emotions that run through you for days before he gets here and then....standing in the airport waiting....knowing his plane is on the ground and any moment he's coming through that gate. The emotions that ran through me are beyond words. Those first few days were readjustment days. When it hits, the reality that "Oh my god, this is it! No more airport goodbyes, and I don't have to take him back to that darn airport"...that's when I cried. Once I got past all that emotion, it seemed life fell into place and it was as if no time had passed at all.

Girl, I am so very happy for you! *hugs*

Aww I missed the posts yersterday to wish your fiance a bon voyage, but looks like you had lots of good support. How exciting that he is going to be arriving anytime now. My husband (then fiance) arrived almost 6 weeks ago now. I know exactly how you feel at this moment, but everyting will melt away the moment he steps in to sight.

I know I am late abotu what you were thinking he needed for the plane, btu maybe you were thinking he needed the I-94. They will give him that on te plane and then he will keep it in his passport!

Enjoy the reunion and we will see you in the AOS boards. AOS is really not that hard, just overwhelming at first! and then of course we are back to waiting just like the K-1 all over again!

Wish you a wonderful day and whole life together!
