Im believeing that is were the difference lies, a older man they prob dont say to much, the older woman they question. I can tell you more in a couple of weeks, how they view the older woman.

Yes, please share !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Ok, I'm the USC(female) and I'm 33, my fiance is 26. If question around that arise I will simply ask if they ever saw the movie "How Stella Got Her Groove Back"

:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

But seriously, I can imagine a 6 year difference will be problematic no matter which of you is older.

Think about it...when the 'old' one is 98....the 'young' one will be 92....doesn't seem like much of a difference to me.

like others have said, a genuine relationship can be shown to the interviewer and the age question may or may not be thrown out there. My guess is that if the interviewer asks, they are only trying to see if you are easily rattled which could be a sign that you are hiding something.

My two cents.

Yes, but the way things are going for me you may beat me to the brass ring. I have been stuck in A/R for two months with no end in sight. I heard of one case that was in A/R for 8 years.

The other thing to keep in mind is when we are in a real relationship we know it is real. The C/O doesn't. Sometimes our confidence in our relationship makes it so obvious in our mind that we forget we need to prove it to him.

Our prayers are with you. I can only imagine your frustration.

I guess you didn't hear the end of that story. I wouldn't recommend bringing that up.

(turns out the guy was gay and using Stella for a green card :( )

But the movie is a fictional piece that was written by that woman. I did not say I would tell them that I am Terry McMillan, I just made a joke referencing a fictional movie. Lot's of thing happen to writers, it does not mean the fiction that they write changes with their lives.

I think you've taken offense when I really didn't mean any. I was just joking, hence the  in my post. Just a little FYI about the story that the movie was loosely based on. You are certainly free to bring up that movie if you think it's in your best interest, but I had thought you were joking from your post.

I was joking...but that's the hazard of sarcasm on message boards...it's hard to tell the difference between someones attempt at a joke...and someone just sucking the fun out of things.

i should be filling the I-129f next week after i get the g-325a signature and letter of intent from my gf in Mexico. Everything is ready to go on my behalf but now that I think about it, will they be suspicious when they know that she's 31 and I'm 25? (L)

She doesnt look that age. Actually I look older but in reality shes 6 yrs older than me. Will this be a factor down the road?

Between my self and my fiance there is quite an age gap, 20 years, so far things are moving fine

I do agree that when women are the older one in the relationship, the validity of it gets questioned. My now husband was interviewed for 30 minutes asking the same questions over and over (for K1). He said the woman just kept rewording it over and over. Finally she told him to sit down and never told him he was approved.

Now that we just finished the AOS interview, same thing. The woman was only concerned with our age difference. She never asked how we got along as a couple or where we lived or anything that pertained to us as a couple. She just kept giving us her opinion of our age difference. ... How my children would not be accepting of this relationship, How her husband being a teacher too would be opposed to this type of relationship of one of his coworkers. Her questions were pointless. I took out joint bank statement, life insurance policy and gym memberships and she could care less. She even had the nerve to ask me if he was under 18 when we started dating. By the way, he was in his early twenties. Despite our 20 year difference, we are compatible and very much in love. At the end of the interview, she never told us if we were approved or not...simply that a response would be mailed to us.

So in my opinion, yes there exists a double standard. Women with younger men are definitely scrutinized more.
