Here it is. Directly from USCIS. I also have confirmed it with my lawyer.

2. Spouses with Pending Petitions and Naturalization Applications

An application for naturalization may not be approved if there is a pending petition for removal of conditions. If an applicant’s petition to remove conditions is pending at the time of filing or is filed prior to the interview, USCIS will adjudicate the petition to remove conditions prior to or concurrently with the adjudication of the naturalization application. [6]

Thanks!

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

Good luck, you are in for a very very long wait, welcome. The best thing to do is to be patient. None of July filers have been approved. For me, I am now focusing on 400 application which I will be able to apply by 7/31.

Yes, the long wait sucks.

Would you say the processing time now for CSC is 12-14 months?

According to that, I should get my G.C by Mar 2018.

You should also be getting your G.C by Sep-Oct 2017.

regards

Steve

I think it will take even longer, I would say conservatives and or realistically speaking. I would say it will take about 1.5 years. CSC has only moved about 3 weeks since January. There is just no way of knowing.

Until the next update of processing times is available. CSC seems to have stopped processing since they got to last June. I hope I am wrong, it could pick up now as we speak, but i would not keep my hopes up and since we have no way of knowing how long it is going to take.(My hunch is it will take 1.5 years). It is crucial to apply for N400 when you are eligible to get that process going because when N400 interview is available and if your 751 is still pending, by their guidelines they are supposed to either pull out your pending 751 and approve it or approve both 751 and 400 concurrently. I have heard anecdotal evidence that a fair mount of applicants got naturalized that way. So hold on to your butt, ,buckle up, be patient, it is going to be a long ride. It is almost 11 months for me! Good luck.

I do not understand what happened between this year and last year. They did not hire anyone or as i was reading, they moved cases for 4-5 states from VSC to CSC, which might explain the backlog at CSV and now CSC and VSC are at par, VSC is maybe faster than CSC now.

VSC has been going rather quickly, but CSC has literally stopped. I wonder sometimes what is cause such a huge difference in processing times between this year and last year. Trump? Can't be, it was already slowing down before he took office.

Not Trump, my guess is as applications from those 4-5 states were moved from VSC to CSC, VSC became faster and CSC very slow.

Does anyone know whether the law requires an applicant to get their passport stamped? Do you loose your lawful status if you don't?

I don't have any international travel plans and don't have a need to demonstrate employment eligibility and neither do I need it for DMV purposes.

Thought of asking this because the closest field office is 500 miles away & it would mean taking 2 days off from work.

Thank you.

You are not required to get the stamp; you do not lose status while your I-751 is pending. If you hadn't applied in time, you could have lost status, but you did. If your I-751 is denied, you lose status, but it hasn't been, so you are still in status.

If you don't need proof of status, you're all good, at least until/unless you hear that the local police are randomly asking people for their "papers."
