There did seem to be a bunch of approvals and status changes emanating from VSC for filers from April and May last week. My guess is that CSC is processing other forms (there have even been some workload transfers, although not officially of I-751s) until VSC gets caught up. Hopefully once VSC has processed most of their May filers and are processing the same date range as California, they'll both keep moving forward from there.

I salute you for having a sense of humor of this. I have pretty much conceded. I just assume I am going to wait for another 6 or 7 months or even longer, the worst case scenario, 9 more months, just 9 more months since now many reports that suggest that some officers have said it would take 1 to 1.5 years. Anything before that will be a pleasant surprise. So sad.

At least we got our applications in before the fees went up.... just looking for the silver lining here - we didn't have to pay an extra $90 for the privilege of waiting all this time!

I have even given up the notion that I will be approved after 10 months of waiting. Depends on what the hell USCIS does, I think we are going to wait for at least 6 or 7 more months. You are probably right, they are probably trying to catch up at VSC, but what I don't understand is that what makes this year so different from last year? I have a feeling this year is probably the worst year in terms of USCIS' being backed up, it appears to be quite severe. I am just going to assume I won't be approved until later this year, it could even go beyond this October to next Feb(That will be 1.5 year wait like some officers suggested). Frustrating, anytime before that would be a pleasant surprise.

That is very true. It makes me wonder if Trump has the power to slow it down, but it was already slowing down before he took office. I wonder what is causing such a back log?

Well, our I-130s were pretty backed up 2 years ago, so that's part of it, I'm sure. Then the huge influx of H1Bs because 45 might cancel them next year. USCIS isn't supposed to be affected by threats of government shut downs, but I'm sure they are.

I don't think 45 has the power to slow them down, per se, but there could easily be pressure on USCIS to prove him wrong in terms of his accusations about the immigration system being unable to provide enough screening. They could be having to spend more time with each file to make sure we're all getting "extreme vetting." Because a bunch of innocent husbands and wives who are following all the inane rules and proving our marriages are real, over and over again are such a threat to national security.

right.

Interesting. I think it was already slowing down in December. I think 45 is really targeting his immigration ban which has been blocked. Anyway. It will be interesting to see what the next update reveals in 2 some weeks. It will be a good sign if USCIS is processing cases from last end of June or beginning of July or something. We shall see.

That's what I suspect since my I-130 process took 13 months!  :cry::cry::cry:

It should've taken 6 months, but our I-130 files were just sitting in the warehouse for 6 months!  And NVC was slow to process.  :bonk:

So the old I-130 applicants (including me) are applying to remove their condition now, and that's one of the reasons why it's taking longer.  :dead:

My 130 was approved at the interview, the officer said he would approve it and it only took a month or two to do so, I guess everyone's different.

When it comes to immigration timeline, it can be unpredictable based on my experience!  :cry::cry::cry:

All we can do is wait, and fill out the citizenship application, and submit it in Aug!  :no:

If you were in the US, you probably didn't have to wait that long since you only had to adjust your status.  :dance:

I sent my I-130 application while I was outside the US.  I had to wait for 13 months to start my life in the US.  :bonk:

Yeah, I was in the U.S. That also makes a difference. I asked my lawyer if I could apply for 400 while 751 is pending, she advised me not to do so saying they can accept your 400, but they won't do anything until they get the 751 approval, so it will be a moot point and it won't force USCIS to adjudicate your 751 faster. You just can't win one way or another..
