You contacted your senator!? :wow:  I guess it doesn't cost anything to contact a senator!   Maybe I should do that too!

Yup! Not that it’s done any noticeable good... but hopefully if I haven’t got an answer by the beginning of March, the senator’s office will be more forceful in enforcing the “60 days” they mentioned in their response to the first inquiry.

Is your timeline updated?

Looks like the USCIS processing times are updated again... now they're saying CSC is processing Sept 22. I'm so fed up with this - I am glad, though, that I got our senator's office involved the very moment I was out of normal processing times - and I've put a reminder on my calendar to call them again if 60 days goes by and I don't hear anything (so, that would be 2nd week of  Mar, 60 days from when I heard from them last).

Seriously! RFE, interview, whatever! Just send me something!:girlwerewolf2xn:

Totally understand your frustration, however, I recently asked my lawyer about getting the congressman involved, this is what she told me. My lawyer has 15 years of experience and a nice reputation in Los Angeles.

"In answer to your question about your Congressperson, I have never really had that “speed up” a process. In fact, when a congressional inquiry is done, it generally slows things down while the file is taken out of the line. " I am not saying you should listen to her, but that seems to be a warning from her about getting a congressman involved, however it may or may not complicate matters. Not all lawyers are correct anyway, I was just trying to be helpful, and maybe your congressman's involvement might help a bit. I hope you hear from USCIS soon.

Most likely they have consolidated your 751 with your 400. I personally would wait for the confirmation of that in the mail. I waited for 33 days to get a letter in response to my inquiry. As I responded to Nightingalujules by quoting what my lawyer thinks about contacting the congressman, she seems to think getting a congressman involved may backfire, in her experience. Just try to be helpful here, did not mean to discourage you from contacting your congressman. Good luck.

I would get an info pass just in case RFE got lost in the mail.  I saw a June filer in VJ was in  the same situation.  Neither he nor his attorney got the RFE letter, and he found out about it during the Infopass.  Sometimes, the adjudicator does not put a note for RFE issuance in the USCIS system until much later.   RFE only has 84 days for the filer to respond even if you never received it (I know it's ridiculous!).

Yes, I had one not too long ago (I give the same advice to others in this situation!) My informed delivery says there are 2 things from USCIS in the mail for me today - one is probably the biometrics notification for my N-400 (which I finally filed last week) but the other one might be an RFE. Frankly I'm hoping for that, since I already collected all the paperwork for the N-400, I'll have lots of extra proof to get an RFE filed before end of business today! (If the mail carrier shows up early enough). Or it may just be a duplicate of something... there's no "Lady Liberty" in the window so I know it's not an approval.

Is your timeline updated?

Not an RFE... it turned out to be a biometrics letter for the first N-400 application I sent in, which has actually been rejected because the bank screwed up the payment. Sigh.

Is your timeline updated?

Thanks for your reply Jharana. I assume the documents they requested you had already submitted along with your initial filing they just wanted updated versions? Like the tax return for 2016 for example/ 2017 Marketplace letter?

I believe so. I had sent everything when I sent the package initially. I sent these as updated and added information.

Good luck.

You mean contacting a Senator/Congressperson may slow your case down!?  :wow: :wow::wow:  That's not good!

It sounds like I'll just need to keep waiting!  :bonk:

That is what my lawyer implied, I think in your case, you should at least wait for the letter confirming that your 751 has been combined with 400, I just do not want to see your cases to be at risk of being delayed much further if what my lawyer said turns out to be true. Like I said, that is what I would do, just wait patiently for now. Fingers crossed, but you obviously should do what you think is the best for your cases. I was just quoting my lawyer.

Well, considering how "lucky" I've been with my US immigration applications,  contacting my Senator/Congressperson will probably backfire me!

OK!  I'll just wait more!  Well, it's not the first time that I'm waiting for an immigration application!

That is what I would do, I waited for 33 days to get a letter in the mail. I really think you will be ok, but the drag is it seems to be taking forever, but the time it took my field office to schedule my interview is in direct contradiction to my field office's processing times, so it might happen to you too. Let's hope.

I finally had my I751 + N400 interview last week.. Good thing my US citizen wife was with me as they called her and interviewed her as well for I751 part. Interview went pretty well and I passed the N400 test. The IO said that they have recommended me for approval but can't have same day oath ceremony as I-751 status change takes 24hrs before N-400 approval kicks in. It been a week and no change to either status. I haven't received oath letter in mail either.
