I have a vacation day to lose though!  :bonk:

If my contract doesn't get renewed in April, I'll have more time and have nothing to lose by making an InfoPass appointment.  :dancing:

Where do you work that you have to take a day for PTO? That's horrible! However, I will admit - last InfoPass appointment took way more time than I anticipated and I only live/work in Bellevue/Redmond. They need to save time/money and institute virtual meetings via Skype for Business or something - I'll be first to signup!

Sure, will do, we are in the exact same situation. Maybe I will get lucky that they may look into my 751 case when I am there, lol.(I can always fanrasize)

I, too, fantasize, about getting this process finished. One day, I'll arrive for my I551 renewal (unfortunately next month) and they'll magically approve it all at once....and give me the winning lotto ticket for my troubles. I can only hope!

Yes, sometimes dreaming is a way to cope with our immigration process, but where is my 751 physically? On the bottom of a pile?

You mean you can just not show up at work!?  :wow:

Maybe Microsoft has a flex schedule that allows you to work any time as long as you get your work done?  :dancing:

Maybe I should get a job at Microsoft since I heard that they were expanding the campus?

Wait... I don't know if I want to commute from Seattle to Redmond since it takes 1 hour (one way)!

I went to a InfoPass appoitment today at Oakland Park FL . I got stamp for one year. Nothing new. Process still pending.

It's the normal processing time according to the official, since they are handling the triple of applications than they used to do before. The normal processing time for I-751 is 14months-18months, maybe 2 years.  He adviced that if I not hear any news in 6 months. I should go back for another InfoPass.

I'm guessing it's in some file storage room bigger than we can imagine where they use machinery to move around containers of files.

At this point, I would guess it's waiting to be taken off the pile for scheduling. I really hope we get some answer - any answer, at an InfoPass appointment.

I have given up 751 and moved on to 400, but I wonder if it is still possible that I may get a 751 approval very close to my 400 interview date. I doubt, but time will tell.

You can hear from them anytime now, but unfortunately CSC 751 processing is so unpredictable and very slow.

As long as I work my 50-60 hours a week and get everything done, that's what counts!

I also couldn't deal with that commute - with the express lanes under construction for the next 5+ years, the commute is unbearable, even if you took a bus. They really need to make the 15 minute drive 15 minutes again!

Did you apply for N400? If not, I think you should hear back much sooner than the next six months - probably within 1-2 months! :)

I don't think so. I think once we get the 'in line' status for the N400, they've combined our petitions and they're living together as roommates in the big file center. Once petitions go to 'in line' no one reports hearing about their I751 anymore. I'd love to be wrong - I'm still only going out of the country on a strict 'as needed' basis just to be 100,000% sure. (I know there's not *really* a risk, but I don't want to risk the .001% that the officer doesn't know the correct procedure)

You are most likely correct. A good number of applicants also reported that after they got the oath letter, their 751 applications still said pending, lol. It is as if they just bypass the whole 751 and just go straight to the 400. That is probably most likely going to happen to us. I submitted pretty identical evidence for 400 as 751, so maybe when they are reviewing 400, it is almost like looking at on going evidence collected after 751, so maybe that is why they might just go ahead and approve 400 and ignore 751. By law, they are supposed to approve 751, but USCIS can pretty much do whatever they want.

i printed out CBP manual confirming I 551 stamp is valid proof if residence, also a mail from CBP info centers stating exactly that. So there is no .001% chances not to be admitted to the country, and even if you lucky to run into officer who's lacking experience in such things, that's what secondary for. Please don't spread paranoia, the process is annoying by itself.

Yes - they are supposed to. I remember reading someone had a N400 interview last week and asked about their i751 and the officer didn't know about it and said 'just one second while I approve that....' :D
