Depends on your field office, but if u get your 400 interview date fast due to the online filing, we might just be naturalized around the same time.

Hey guys, so I check on USCIS.gov every few weeks about my case status. The receipt number is saved so it automatically pops into the bar and I get the same mssg that my case was received. The last time I checked was 2 weeks ago with the same message. I go to check today and the number doesn't automatically fill in like usual so I manually enter it and get a mssg saying " my case status does not recognize the receipt number you have entered" what the hell!!! Anyone else had this happen?!

Are you sure you put the right receipt number in? (ie: not the one from your NOA, but the new one that came on your biometrics letter?) If you're sure you did it right, call USCIS and confirm. I did notice that my receipt number stopped autofilling a little while ago - strangely it still offers an autofill of that "wrong number" but not the biometrics one.

Is that the one on the letter that extends your residency for 1 year? Because that's the one I've been using up until 2 weeks ago

No - and I'm shocked that it's been working for you up til now - it doesn't usually. In fact I've never heard of anyone successfully using that number, up til you - maybe they finally noticed the "error."

 

Anyway, if you look through your files for your biometrics letter (the one that gave you your appointment to get your fingerprints/photo taken) you will see 2 different numbers, both of which start with EAC (Vermont) or WAC (California). One of them will be the same as the number on your extension letter, and the other one is the one you use to see your case status.

I-797 letter of approval arrived on the mail today, that was a surprise because I didn't know we will getting one. Now just waiting on my new card on the mail any time now.

Yes my case status change once it was approved on 11/11, then yesterday changed to card being sent on the mail.

You mean the Portland office is one of the field offices that processes N-400 online applications faster?

I don't know that, but I did check their processing times, they are on 2/28/2016 which is faster than my Los Angeles field office by almost a month, but don't know if they process on line filing faster

I would say it takes on average 7 months but you never know things could change. I don't know how fast the online N-400 would be but I will file online in few months. Did you file online? what is your N-400 status?  Regards
